Just wanted to let you all know that I received an e-mail in response to a WTB post for a Donnay stick that offered this stick brand new for 120 euros. When I mentioned this was a little more than I had budgeted for a backup stick, he said that he would take any amount, as long as it was sent via Western Union.

I asked for references and he ignored my request.

He then asked me to send half the amount and the rest after I received the item.

His name is Peter. He could be legit, but it felt wrong with no references.

Not sounding legitimate to me; sounds like the classic scammer.

The quick caving on his asking price, insistence on Western Union despite a total lack of references, etc., are all reasons to draw your suspicion.

Glad to hear that you listened to your instincts before you sent cash down a rabbit hole.

    What is his email address?

Suggest that you don't post your email address on this site. Instead make people contact you through the TW system. Most scammers won't take the time to sign up for a TW account but will milk the Classified Section for email addresses as they are easily mined. More sophisticated scammers/spammers use programs to search the web for posted email addresses.

In short, don't post your email address on the internet unless you want to receive email from scammers and spammers.
