I don't see how it's fixed. I mean on the men's side there were a ton of withdrawals... I'd like to see you come up with a better draw.

Have you ever attended a draw ceremony? If you did, you might want to delete this thread. LOL.

It's all a conspiracy to keep Donald Young from winning his grandslams that we all know he deserves.

Uncle Toni obviously bribed the organizers to place Gublis and Soderling in Fed's half.

I think the ATP are small minded enough to possible tweak the draw slightly. I mean, If Nadal was ranked #3, there is no way that the organisers would put him in Federer's half, even though guys like Djokovic when #3 were always in Fed's half; they want the top 2 players in the final.

We are expected to actually believe that he and Drakulie (of all the people on Earth) email each other occasionally and seemingly get along quite well. Which basically means, no one is in contact with the chap, unless he has started trolling under another name here, or elsewhere.

Perhaps, when Nadal wins RG he will surface again.

Well they always put Djokovic in Nadals half.. why? To weaken Nadal so Federer would win like madrid last year.

Too bad the ATP has nothing to do with it. The ITF runs the majors.

    Nice try though.

Djokovic was in Nadals half since 2006 and maybe 2005 but im not sure about that. In 2009 it didnt really matter because Djokovic and Nadal were both worn out so non of them would have made the semis anyways...

People try to make it seem like a big deal that Djokovic is in Nadal's half...Djokovic probably won't make the semis, just like last year.

There actually was an attempt to rig the draw at the US Open about 15 years ago. At that time the Slams were allowed to adjust the seeds away from the actual computer rankings. I think Wimbledon may still do this. Anyway, the US Open desperately wanted an Agassi - Sampras semifinal for Super Saturday. By computer rankings Kafelnikov should have been 4th seed. The US Open Committee wanted to drop him down in the seedings and move Agassi up to get Sampras and Aggassi paired for a semi meeting. There was so much negative reaction to it that the Committee had to back off. I don't the US Open adjusted seedings since then.

actually come to think of it, there was a lot of talk on this board about seeding the william sisters in doubles and henin when she came back because most people thought she deserved to be seeded and was a dangerous floater. as for the sisters i think i saw a slam doubles when they weren't seeded at all, i think that's cause they don't play many doubles but usually win them. it doesn't seem right to have the defending champions not seeded especially when they are still expected to win.

so if taken like this i think sometimes, yea, draws might be considered rigged cause it's not done purely by computer rating, but i think it's done to make things more fair when players deserve to be seeded higher. as for the agassi sampras thing, i don't think that was needed since people would have wanted to see them play no matter what the circumstances. it's like if nadal went against fed the first round, are people telling me they wouldn't watch because it wasn't the semi or final?

They said on ESPN that Fed's half of draw looks very easy. Like there is nobody there that can harm him and all the dangerous players are in the other half. One word: Fixed.

Can't argue with ESPN, Nadal is indeed on the other side of the draw and he is the only dangerous player on clay so indeed all the dangerous players are on the other side of the draw.

And ofcourse the draws are fixed, it has been like that for years.
The fact that the number 1 can never meet the number 2 before the final is the definition of fixed. They often can't even meet a difficult player(top 8 ) untill the QF or 4th round. Some people might like it the way it is, but this is what we call fixed draws.
Any other fixing is hardly neccesary, but I won't rule it out. It is all about money and a Nadal - Federer final at the USopen will obviously result in a lot of exposure and thus money. In that case I might see them help fate a little, same for local players. They might want to ensure that they have the best chance to go deep in the tournament as this will result in bigger crowds. Everything is about money and if these kinds of things are not checked by an independent organization than this kind of draw fixing becomes possible and more likely.
