Does dampening make the tension a little higher or it's just some feeling?

    A string dampener does not raise tension. It just blocks some of the vibration of the strings changing the way the hit feels. There was some discussion of this a while back. If you want to read more, do a search.

    it makes sound different when you hitting the ball.
