Does it really matter between blades on a shaving thingy? Cause two blade shavers cost like eight bucks for a lot but five blade ones cost like eight bucks for one.

Well i am not sure how much of a difference it makes...i have only used mach 3 razors which work awesome...i am curious to try other ones, but i really dont feel like spending more money for another razor if the one i have is fine. Hopefully someone will have some imput that has tried different types.

I think it has 4 blades, but I like the vibrating one that comes with a battery.

I have a pretty rough beard, I liked the 3 blade, but got the 4 blade free in the mail... after trying that, I was hooked--4 was definitely smoother than three. It also was smoother when my hair was longer...which was nice.

I don't understand how a continent of over a billion people got grouped together as men who don't have to shave often.

Anyone try the mach fusion??? 5 blades just sounds very unnecessary, but i cant really judge. The single blade on the edge looks like a great idea.

I refused for a long time to fall for the advertisements and stuck with my ordinary two-blade razors... Then about a year ago I *got* a three-blade razor (the Mach3 one) and I must say I was *REALLY* surprised at how good those were. The advertisments didn't lie. (That must have been the first time that ever happened!)

If you've only been using two-blade razors - try a three-blade one. You *will* be surprised.

As to if you need 4 or 5 blades - dunno. I doubt it though.

I bought the mach5 today and it was pretty good. Not godly though and definitely not worth extra money.

The benefit to having 5 blades is that is supposedly evens out the pressure/irritation on your skin. Makes sense, considering that if you try to shave with a single blade, you're just going to rip your face off.

I use cheapo Gillete 2-blade Somethingorothers.

You guys have got it all wrong, these technological advancements aren't all that..

Go with the old school! A little lead (maybe 20 grams) at 6 o'clock on the handle will make the razor much more maneuverable. Your slices will be more penetrating, too!

I'm pretty happy with the Mach 3. At first, I thought 3 blades were too much but then I tried it. Very smooth. I have tried the Schick Quattro and it felt like my skin was coming off. SNL had a great skit on how ridiculous razors are getting.

Some people call it a sling blade. I call it a kaiser blade.

I have had the mach 3 and the fushion. With both I have noticed that with just one swipe it doesnt get my skin smooth but leaves a stubble. That I have to shave twice. Am I shaving incorrectly? Does someone want to teach me to shave, I tried using the "precision" trimmer today, couldnt really get it to work :p

Thanks for the link, I didnt find it too helpfull though. I need more of techniques. I find that shaving down doesnt get a close enough shave like shaving with the blade upside down.

I remember reading something about what an executive ffrom gillette said.

Because they sent me a free mach 3 for my 18th b-day, so I wanted to know what the hell was going on.

Anyway, he said. The first blade cut the hair, and the second blade did the same, the third blade was a reason to charge 1/3 more.

It was something like that. Someone google it.

Dude, that's clutch! Hilarious! "They turn't me loose from the state hospital, said I's well from it."

Anyway, I've been a proponent for the Mach 3 for years. I've got a pretty thick beard and the Mach stays sharp for a pretty long time. I can get a lot of use out of one blade. When I let it go for a week it does get a little rough, 'specially around the chin region. So I am a bit interested in checking out the 4 blader... cuz there IS a huge difference between the old school disposable Bic's and the Mach 3's.
