does verdasco use power pads?

    Verdasco uses them and Wawrinka is the only other one i can think of :)

    Those little leather pads you put between the string and the grommet on the outside of the racquet. Look at Fed's racquet throat (You can see the three).

    Im not exactly sure but i think they are supposed to reduce friction on the strings so the tension keeps.

    They are made from scrap pieces of leather. In the days of wood, being that wood frames had no grommets, they were used to lessen the angle of the strings thru the grommet holes near the throat.

    I still use them from time to time. They mute/dampen the feel of the mains a bit.

    they look rather interesting.. isn't it the same affect as a vib damp though?

    and how would i go about putting these on - tell my stringer?

    No it's not the same as a vib, but it has a more muted feel but it's not a vib killer though,you just put them on when u tension ur head mains...

    Safin used to use them....

    Haas is still using them, I believe.... sampras also
