right you are ... thx Raging Buddha! :D

I have even increased respect for the determination of Alex, a man who has been steadfast enough (quite the opposite of the uninformed opinion of those who dismiss him as, "Dolgo is a mug and always will be") to overcome those kinds of challenges to put together this ranking history:

A lot. It was jaw-dropping when I first came here 5 years ago, the honeymoon is somehow still not over. )

It is located between 2 lakes, so there is not much space for urban sprawl. There is "downtown" with only a few skyscrapers (Microsoft, Expedia, etc.) that you can drive through in 5 minutes.

Everything else is green and landscaped like a 55+ community, lol. People who need more night life head over the bridge to Seattle, people who need the nature head west to the mountains,

...so everybody is generally laid back and relaxed except tennis players - while it is quite enjoyable to play in high 70s-low 80s in summer, frequent drizzle in winter makes it pretty much a seasonal sport :/

anybody watching Dolgo defending his 2011 Umag title?
alex seems to be in good form this week and, starting right now, he's playing the semifinal match vs. Cilic :D

Dolgopolov's winning the whole thing since Marin sucks on clay and I really want Alex to beat that grunting cheat called Granollers in the finals.

cilic warming up, breaks back, now serving 3 all

judging from the glistening faces/bodies of the players, it's gotta be hot on the Adriatic tonight ... cilic holds 4-3 with a 124 mph serve

Or briefly said, a cheat.. Seriously I never complained about any grunters, neither in womens tennis nor in mens.
But this grannolers is one heck of an arsehole.

The guy gets louder and louder as soon as he's down or under some high pressure.

Edit: Cilic breaks and serves for the 4-3 lead.

reminds me of azarenka and sharapova, not to mention the williams sisters when then get behind

wow that deadly dropper of dolgo's. not only does he pull off a high percentage of the droppers on their own, but when his opponent does managed to get it back over the net, alex has multiple types of winners he then administers. he's looking very speedy and light on his feet tonight.

Dolgopolov has some serious acne going, he really could use some laser treatment or something.

hasn't prevented him from having some gorgeous GFs, but believe it or not, it looks a little better now that it was when he first started his rise in the rankings

weirdly jack reader ... where is he this week? iirc, he wasn't in umag last year either

yep. looks like your avatar's countryman might be the winner of the title this year! :)

dolgo complaining about the court surface? "too much dressing ... can't get a grip on it" ... we could see the dust flying earlier

PokerStars should add Ljubicic to their group. I bet he would make a good stone face.

He hasn't competed in the Davis Cup in 5 years, so he wasn't eligible to play in the Olympics. Sucks.

^^very strange.. I would have rather see him competing rather than stakhovsky.

he did good in the ATP 500 tourny in DC with an easy win today over Cipolla 6-1 6-3

Starting from the baseline and finishing in front of the umpire's chair, Alex strikes home the final point in the first set
of his semifinal match vs. Jurgen today in Valencia, 6-4 .....

GRATS to Alex for reaching the final of his second 500 this year, without dropping a set this week .....
and grats to Jurgen for marrying his love match, wimby champ mixed doubles partner Iveta Benesova, five weeks ago in Laxenburg, Austria!
