Dont You Think This Is Taking This A Bit Too Far?

Few days ago I watched a mini orange match while I was hitting with a friend of mine. The first junior who had one aluminium babolat racket, was waiting for his opponent. As the opponent showed up he was had a:
    - FIVETEEN pack Federer Wilson bag With his name sewn on
    - SEVEN Wilson Blades (26inch)
    - MiCoach Barricades 7's With the Speed_Cell
    - Nadal Us Open Crew 2012
    - Two Reels Some sort of Lux Strings
    -Resistance Bands

So everyone was intrigued by the sight of this boy and his dad was
calling him the 'Futurestar'. His boy who was waiting for this 'little pro' was pretty much wetting himself. They began to warm up in the boxes and 'little pros dad' was glancing at his son. They began the match and little pro was bopping, jumping like bartoli as he was about to serve. He double faulted 4 times in the first game and had a beginner like lollipop serve. I stopped watching until the last moment of the match. I found out that the score was 4-0 3-0 to little pros opponent in just under a half hour. I also saw little pro was a newbie that had o been playing for 1 year. He was choking up the grip on his FH and couldnt even keep the ball in. He also had no BH whatsoever. Anyway, little pro got double bageled and his dad was such a saw loser after and that his son had a flu (he seem pretty fine)

What was so odd is that Junior parents kit their kids in the latest stuff and want their kids to be pro-like. It was like seeing Jan Silva without any talent at all (Little pro even got a massage and a warm down after losing) What to any people think about this?

DB parents creating DB kids..get used to it. It's a direct result of the Dragon shirt guy/overtanned minidress girl relationships of the late 90s/early 2000s.

Ha, was he also sporting a headband instead of a cap? Another clear sign. There will always be those displaying so much on the outside to cover inadequacies on the inside. His 16th bday present will be a bmw535. Nice car.

This is wrong on so many levels. They are ruining the kid. Spend as little as possible. My kids played with holes in their shoes and hand me down racquets. Most of their lessons were with Joe the Wall. He fit my price range.

My dad made me use a wooden racquet in the 1990s until finaly getting me a prince 100 when I made a usta team..lol. Of course he used a t2000 in the same era and then finally switched to a wilson hammer.

I could be wrong but I read DB parent and DB kid as meaning D Bag and not the other DB we are used to.

Nobody here thinks DB is a DB; however, I suspect there are some who beleive BB is a DB ( not me though). But this post was clearly just about a DB raising a future DB. Whether that DB in question is anything like BB I dont know, and his son could turn out to be like DB or a real DB. Only will tell.

Nice shirt, Power Player. You got grate taste. I haz that same shirt! and The pants that match!

To the OP: Ya man, got a Similar experience here. My son lost to a kid with only one aluminium babolat racket, and shorts from Target or something.
just Liek the kid in your story, Naturally, mah boy does it right and shows up with the proper accoutrements:
    - 12pack custom Federer Wilson bag [y not?]
    - seven Wilson Blade 26s. [He is a string breaker!] Also he was carrying some of my Blade 26s, just in case!
    - MiCoach Barricades 7's With the Speed_Cell [they are really grate and they inspire him to train better than I can]! he makes it into a game on the computer at night. so kewel!
    - Nadal Us Open Crew 2012 [present from my gf's hoTT girlfriend]
    - Two Reels Some sort of Lux Strings [bb alu power rough. Gives him lot's and lot's of spin's! Brings them in the bag cus he likes to touch them and stroke them on changeovers. He is learning how to string. Satn clause is getting him a baiardo this chrismes]
-Resistance Bands [gotta warm up da gunz for da gun show, you knowhatt that's about!] what color do you guys use for your 10 yr olds? I get the heaviest, thickest ones so we could share.

So everyone was intrigued by this kid with only the one metal rkt, haha. Kid didn't have happy feet. Just pushed. Pushin's really successful now in 10s, but not in the 12s and 14s where the real money's at!
Yeah, My boy double faulted 4 times in the first game -- he is between serves right now, trying to work between the pinpoint vs platform....kick toss vs neutral....conti grip versus the frying pan. Gotta just listen to all three coaches and process their advice. We're constantly using Coaches Eye and Dartfish...and footage of Djokovic and also Roddick.

Conclusion.....and yeah, gotta face facts: My li'l future star got double bageled by a pusher. I hate the 4 game set format. My son just ran out of time! He had a flu though. Had it for like a couple of weekends in a row.

Got him a nice massage and a warm down after the match....skipped out on the losers' bracket so we could go tanning. Heading down to Macci's for some 3D analysis over thanksgiving. Lot's to be thankful for!

He will catch up to the other kids when he irons out his serve technique. Looked great and felt great, though! and so did my son, haahaa! That's what counts! Vamos mi hijo!

    Oh, EDIT:
Where can I buy my kid one of those Western Grips? I hear all about them, but they are not listed on the TW web sight. How much is a western grip? Are they on ebey or something?

Ha freaking ha, what is so damn funny? I appreciate the serious applause GIF and the laughs, but, man, we're just really hurting from the big loss. 0 & 0 cuts deep, real deep, bro. Gotta just use it as fuel, I keep tellin' my 9 yr old warrior, as I drag him off the couch away from his wee.

Been taking 90 minute lessons from all three coaches over the past week. So, yeah, my girlfriend's girlfriend and I were takin' the kid to the spa to have his eyebrows plucked and we ran into this massage guy who is also a genius tennis coach. Tryin' him out today. He's a felon, but he coached a coupla Open players and a prize fighter back in Kreplachistan.

Planning on homeschooling and lots of 2-a-days like I used to do back when homeschooling was truancy. Tweakin' it up a level each day. Gonna be set for 12s in a year or so, with that money yellow ball and the full court. Just up for some more gym time and even more retail therapy.

You ninjas know of any other places for some pro gear in youth Medium? Maybe some Lunar Vapors in size 4 with the RF logo and the little red plus signds [good reminder to stay positive with all the haterz]? And what about that western grip thingy? Or maybe I ought to get him some semi-western grips for right now. Hit me up on my cellyy ah-eet?

    EDIT:
    Oh, and Number1Coach:
a] you are cool and smart, man. Keep you're eyes on the Federer plus signs and keep the faith bro.
    b] You're so vain
c] you probably thought this thread was about you
d] but it was about me and mah boy, hahah, yeeeeeah boyeee!

@el nino, don't you think posting this thread, to start with, is "taking this a bit too far"? Sure, we all smirk or snicker (silently, or at whisper level) at an overly serious but heavily under-talented kid at every tournament. But to than go home and create a thread about a 6 or 8 yo looking too prepared and hoe they lost so badly to your own awesome child. Come on. I bet you laughed about it all the way home with your kid in the car. Way to be a grown up. Ever heard of the expression "dress for the job you want, and not the job you have"?

You are new here. When you are irritated with someone because they are posting as if they were a middle school kid, it's often because they are. :)
