Why do people like double wide more than sigle wide wristbands? I think the double is huge and single is perfect. Please explain.

Sorry, I thought this was a thread about trailers! :)

I prefer a double-wide wristband because its like a towel I always have RIGHT THERE.

Used to use triple-wide bands, those were huge, like sweaters for sweat.

    Fewer strokes, less irritation.

I use double because the single one moved too much and I had to adjust it every time.

you must have stumpy or twig arms lol! Jokes, jus jokes :) Double wide hides my wrist taping and is, as stated, like a towel. Nike has pretty thin bands btw.

Double-wide absorbs more sweat and they last longer than single-wide.

I used single-wide wristband early in my Bboy days for minor arm/elbow protection, but then I wore a double-wide during an elbow spin and I've been stuck ever since.

I use double-wide because I find the single-wide is almost useless and my arm feels naked with it on.

Single wide is a waist of a wristband. It moves around and does not absorb much. Babolat has come out with a 5 inch wristband that fits well and is not too tight, unless you have Popeye forearms.

The increased area traps more sweat, so you have to change them less often.

Single wide. The girls that live in double wides are too rich and classy for me....

I had to get used to it but I prefer Double-Wide. I used to like Single-Wide when I was younger.

Seriously, those sweatbands are like sweaters for your forearms.

^^ This. And on the hottest days on court I feel I could go double-and-a-half or triple-wide, even.

I'm just going to go ahead and say what everyone else really wants to say:

Because Nadal and Federer wear doublewide, as well as Djokovic and Murray. But mainly because of Nadal and Federer.

And yes, I am not afraid to admit to this.

I've been wearing double-wide wristbands since before either Federer or Nadal were on the pro tour.

I'm lucky enough I don't need wristbands, just plain old grab-my-shirt (even if it's a drifit) for a quick wipe off and by the time I'm done I walk off with my 4th shirt.:)

    Half-wide?

Mine are half the width of normal wrist bands. I take 8 of them to each match and prefer to just change the half-wide ones each set if needed rather than wear single or double.

I concur with this statement. There are so many wannabes anymore that everyone automatically jumps to that assumption..

Is it possible to not look like a wannabe when wearing Nike Premier wristbands? Thinking of picking up Fed's Shanghai pair since I got the shorts and shoes.

Exactly and they can act as a towel as well, like someone else posted.
My hands sweat a lot and I even have to rotate at least a couple of racquets per set (each service change basically).
Besides if you go to Walmart in US, Wilson ones are like $2.

Who cares, it absorbs twice the sweat because it is twice as big. I only wear one on my right hand since I am right handed, who cares how it looks, function over form here.

You have to go for the deluxe model if you sweat like I do...but I also have to swap socks and shirts if I go 3 sets.
