So my doubles comp ends tomorrow night, and me and my partner have made the grand final, won the semi final quite convincingly (6-3 6-2 6-0), but now I'm a little panicky about the final. My partner isn't too worried, but he's the best player in the comp by far, used to play at state level. I need something to calm the nerves a little bit, I've played in football grand finals before but never tennis, it's a much different arena. Any suggestions on how to soothe the pre-game nerves?

A shot of something before the match (just one!) has done the trick for me.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin'....

Yeah. Hit out during warm-up, since you will be tight. Focus on the ball and your feet during the match. You'll be fine!!

I always like to make sure I get the exact warmup routine I like ... often that means going somewhere early to get exactly what I want. If I get the warmup I like, then it is game on and the nerves disappear.

Sometimes when I am really nervous I get out of rhythm in my warm up and nothing seems to go right after that.

Thanks for the advice :) We got a bit frustrated in the first set, went down 0-4, but ended up winning 6-5 6-4 6-4. (we play tiebreakers at 5-5)
