If you were scheduling a line-up of exhibition matches for royalty, with the intention of entertaining them as best as possible. What would your line-up be?
Of course, all players at their peak. With the surface magically interchangeable between matches.

Mine would be something along the lines of

Gaudio/Kuerten on red clay; backhand rallies.
Coria/Agassi on slow hardcourt: Long rallies, lots of entertaining cat and mouse points.
Djokovic/Nadal on slow hardcourt: Athleticism and passing shots.
Nalbandian/Federer on fast hardcourt for the evening slot because its the highest quality match-up there is.

Other possiblities; Tsonga, Santoro, Murray, Stepanek

IMO the top 4 guys are Sampras, Fed, Laver, and Borg, so you'd have to do a round robin type thing there. And you've got to throw Agassi in because he's the crowd favorite.

Laver and Borg's tennis is outdated by 40+ years. They have no place on the court with the best the game has to offer today.
Royalty doesn't care for reputation, they just want to see the best tennis there is.

It's been said before. Hand Federer a wooden racket and watch his puny arm fall off after two hours.

This wouldn't be interesting because Federer wouldn't win a set.

Out of most modern players, Federer is usually considered the one that would do best with wood rackets because he is a finesse player.

I would love to see Borg/Nadal on clay. Wouldn't mind seeing Becker/McEnroe on grass again.

Clearly you haven't seen any clips of Laver or Borg. Try hitting winners past them.

And for some comic relief for the Royals and some eye candy for the Royals.....Safin/Ivanisevic v. Anna Kournakova/John Mcenroe

Those Royals probably don't know anything about teenis and need to be amused.

    Thanks.

My first choice really would be Kent Carlsson vs. Berasategui on grass, as it was in the mid 90s, like a bowling green.

The first ones I thought of:

Lendl vs. McEnroe (clay or hard court)

    Federer vs. Edberg (grass)

    Stich vs. Fed (grass)

Becker vs. Roddick (grass or hard court)

Nadal vs. Muster (clay of course)

Martina Navratilova vs. Sharapova (would wonder if Martina complains to um about the shrieking and have it stopped or modified)

    I would like to see

Lleyton Hewitt and Fabrice Santoro (slow hard)

It'd be interesting to see what how a counterpunch handles a hacker. It'd be a good learning lesson for a lot of 4.0 to 5.0 players.
