    When tensioning, how horizontal (+/-) do you need to be and if bar drops below horizontal is that more or less of the desired tension?

    If you have a Stringway or LaSerFibre drop weight, you don't have to worry about having the arm stop parallel to ground. These are the only drop weight machines that have proper tension at any angle. That's why I bought mine. I did read once that if more than 20 degrees off on Stringway/LaSerFibre in either direction it could introduce a small error in tension - less than 1 lb. It is pretty easy to consistently drop into a 40 degree window (20 degree above and 20 degree below parallel) so this is not a problem.

    I think the Klippermate manual states 1 1/2" either way. Maybe someone else can confirm.
