I have been playing Dunlop Revelation Mid Profile 8.2 racquets for many years and I think they are one of the best frames ever. From time to time I try to find a new racquet and demo a bunch of them and I never find anything that I like even close to those old 8.2s. And BTW, I hate the Aerogels. They seem dead to me.

So my question is, is there a new Dunlop that has the same playing characteristics my old 8.2s? Or, was there another model that was essentially the same racquet that I could find used?

    Thanks for your help!

could we see pics pls? did it have ISIS? dunlop made some excellent frames in the mid/late 90's. A ringer (scolarshiped player) from Europe who I was constantly battling in the NCAA for 4 years (ok 5 years, shhh) used to play a dunlop revelation with ISIS (ISIS was a tapered thickening of the frame near the grip, similar to the idea behind kneissl). Even at the time it was a slightly older model but he wouldn't switch ever, even if you payed him a millard dollars.

    Feynman,

I don't know if I can be much help, but I have a similar problem with Dunlop. My favorite is the Muscle Weave 200G, which goes quite a ways back, and although Dunlop has continued its 200 line, I've found each succeeding generation less satisfying and less responsive.

What I've done in trying out newer racquets is match up, as best I can, the specs with the Muscle Weave -- similar swingweight, balance, beam width, flex. That's no guarantee you're going to find another one you like, but it helps narrow the possibilities, seems to me.

If you go to the racquet finder section of this site, you will find that TW does the comparison for you, if your original racquet is listed or if you know the specs of your favorite.

The other solution would be to look for your old Revelation in the for sale section of the TW boards or on an auction site. Just because a racquet isn't made anymore doesn't mean you can't get it.

    Good luck.

Yep, it was an ISIS racquet. I'll get some pics and see if I can upload them someplace I get a link to. And yes, these were from the 90's.

Thanks for the tips. I have been buying them when I can, but they will eventually dry up. I'll try the TW tools. Thanks
