No love for ESC on these boards? I figured I'd start a thread about it then

The first semi-final was so incredibly bad I sometimes had to mute the television. I mean, seriously, what happened with the incredible high level of last year.
In 2010, I found almost each song to be good, while now I have trouble finding 1 song I like one bit.

Actually, it wasn't worth watching the first semi, but who knows, the second might be better? I'm going to watch it for sure.

I watched Eurovision once, when I first moved to Europe several years ago. It was so terribly bad, and the winning song was so incredibly bland, I decided not to bother watching ever again.

I've got better ways to spend an evening.

Eurovision is being held in my own home city of Dusseldorf. I'm sure the atmosphere out there will be great, but if you're a fan of good music then you'll most likely be out of luck.

I haven't watched any of the semi-finals, I don't even know what our(UK) song is. I love Eurovision though, it's so camp.

Blue have returned from the 00s to bash out an anthem for us.

    I'm backing Jedward, of course.

:) I did know Blue were doing it, just haven't heard the song, they can actually sing, though, so should be interesting.

Haha, I like Jedward, and I always root for Ireland.

Jedward is horrible, but at least it's got some energy to it. I feel most of the songs are incredibly powerless and boring.

Rooting for Estonia, and also a bit for Sweden.

It wasn't bad, but most of the others were just better. Azerbeijan got really ****ed because they were placed first. Otherwise, they would've won IMO.

My favourite was the Pirate song, I can't remember who did it. Actually, that was from a few years ago.
I think I liked Israel and Greece last year, but the former wasn't for song reasons. And, and, I still rather like Sebastien Tellier's song.

That pirate song was so bad it became good!

Israel was well sung and powerful, but Greece was just stupid IMO. It as the opa song right?

Yeah, it was HIGHLARIOUS! Yes the opa one, that was catchy.

Denmark is hot...the song isn't great though, but I wouldn't be surprised if this gets some points. Lead sing with his Dewch hair is nice.

That song is horrible. Looks like they are going to sing hardrock, but it ends up as a cheap cooked-out pop rock song.

I love the blind language she uses! That's basically the only good thing about Lithuania's entry, the rest is taken straight from a musical.

    CĂ©line Dion has risen again!
Decent song, but she's just copying Dion - the dress, the song, the voice, hair...

The guy really thinks he is the best singer ever. Apparently, he and Eric Saade (Sweden) can't stand each other? Any info on that?

Moldova is crap. Especially compared to least year, when they sent a great dance song!
