I think I need to say sorry to Andy for mocking his volley. Who would a thought he'd figure out how to hit a stinking volley...

I was certainly thinking it may be a lost cause! This coming from a Roddick fan:mrgreen: .Though he appear's to have improved quite a bit since this time last year.

its not like he's really comfortable up a net now. all he changed was after he woulud hit a big serve or forehand he'd come up to net and put away the floater. its not something that anyone else can't do, its just that now he making 30 attempts to come in and winning 15 of them, which is 30 attempts more than he used to, and 15 more points won at net. if he would actually come in as most serve-and volleyers do ala mirnyi, he'd be completely destroyed.

It does seem the changes he's made are having a positive effect. I don't see your point other than this, however? He's found a winning strategy, and he's employing it.

There's really not many pure serve-volleyers left, not many at all. There's many reasons for this.

If such a tactic would leave him completely destroyed, then one can understand why he's not doing it!
