I picked Wawrinka to win the title..
I picked Dimitrov to beat Monfils, albeit in 5..
I predicted Murray will push Djokovic all the way..
I predicted Raonic will reach the SF..
I predicted 1 of Matosevic, Groth and Karlovic will really push Federer..

It's a good thing my job doesn't involve predictions. On a second thought, I have to make a forecast today.

Congratulations to the Novak fans and commiserations to the Murray fans. I got up at 4:30AM to watch the first heavy weight bout of the tournament and these guys didn't disappoint. I was just disappointed Murray didn't do a better job of staving breakpoints off. Djokovic was merciless when presented with an opportunity. There were even some excellent net points by both. Djokovic, in particular, impressed me because it's more of a rarity to see him there. If anything, there were a lot of positives for Murray from this match. He is not 100% physically I am now certain of that. His serve has gone. Even so, he really took it to the world number one. There is yet time for Murray to make his mark in this season.

I severely underestimated Nishikori. I was certain he wouldn't be up for a fight to the bitter end vs an animalistic Wawrinka. Boy was I wrong. I've got nothing but respect for Kei. Awesome tournament for him. Stan is Stan. On a good day, he can blow anyone off the court. Sometimes, some people can make a good day a bad one. Maybe this was such a case. Nothing to be ashamed off for him either.

Don't be too hard on yourself. They were not bad predictions except I always assumed Djokovic would win the title, not Stan. Maybe you could try anti-jinxing next time to make sure your real predictions come true? Apparently, it works for some!

Personally, I'm writing off 2014 for Murray. He won't now make the WTF because Nishikori's win over Stan means he'll grab Murray's number #9 ranking next week when the rankings are updated and push Andy down to number #10. It's just as well because I don't think Andy is currently fit enough to make big finals or win big titles (he could probably win some small ones).

Nishikori is a revelation but I am even more concerned about his fitness than I am about Murray's. Can he stand going through a 3rd long match after 2 gruelling back to back 5 setters? Experience tells me no. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he can surprise us all yet again?

Wawrinka and raonic prediction were contradictory anyway.

Not surprised at all. That is what happens when you live in a fantasy world.

Please predict Monfils over Rogi...I have total faith in your ability to jinx outcomes.

Well, you can't win 'em all. As for Kei, he's played great all event and only had to back up one fairly physical match with another.. wasn't like he was playing gruelling tennis throughout the entire tournament.

I'm hesitant to predict the semi-final result right now and will save that for tomorrow (leaning with Djokovic at the moment but shan't commit yet).

    What is "dutter"?

Regardless. I am allergic to peanuts, so thanks, but no thanks.

Wawrinka winning the title never had much chance. I wouldn't feel too badly about that one.

That's why we like sports, because the results are unpredictable.
