Interviewer: So Player A, what do you think you need to do to beat Player B?

Player A: Well, you know, I just have to, you know, go out and uh...hit the tennis ball with my racquet. And also I have to move around as quickly as I can. I really have to just try to execute my game well and be aggressive. But sometimes I have to be defensive. But sometimes not. I have to serve well too, and also hit good groundstrokes...and volleys. But mostly just play my game and execute well. My coach and I have really been working on me being more aggressive, and dictating play by hitting the tennis ball as aggressively as I can with my racquet...and executing.

Player interviews are usually very boring. I laugh at how some people pretty much slice and dice everything that the top pros say in their press conferences.

The journalists asking the questions rarely think of anything original to ask, and many of the players nowadays are merely boring ball machines with no life or personality. That is a recipe for tediousness.

    Hate Pre-Match Interviews

Who ever thought this up should be banished! Outrageous demand upon players about to engage in competition. Agree they ask inane questions and of course the answers are curt and sweet and the same.

Laughed when Federer tactfully but surely walked away from Pam Shriver who was about to go on to her fourth or fifth idiotic question by saying in so many words..."I have a match to go play!"

His interviews are occasionally interesting/funny, but no one beats Roddick in this category. He's a media goldmine.

Roddick tries too hard to be funny sometimes. My favorite is Safin, smart and humorous
