My all time favourite is A Christmas Story. It's about a 9 year old kid and his disenchantment of Christmas, but it's a light hearted film.
In recent times I really like The Family Man with Nick Cage and Tea Leoni and Don Cheadle. I used to really hate Cage for some reason until I saw this. It's almost like a reverse It's a Wonderful Life. I thought it was splendid.

Sixpointone nailed it with 'Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas'. I've watched it every year since I was a little nugget. Great characters, great tunes and Chuck and The Riverbottom Nightmare Band make the story. Cartoons can't beat muppets for comedy.
