    Let's compare their results in best of three and best of five on clay:

    Head to head on clay:
    Best of five: Nadal 6-0
    Best of three: Nadal 3-2


    Sets won:
    Best of five: Nadal 18-6 (Nadal 75%, Federer 25%)
    Best of Three: Nadal 7-5 (Nadal 58%, Federer 42%)

    Games won:
    best of five: Nadal: 135-100 (Nadal won 57.4%, Federer won 42.6%)
    Best of three: Nadal: 63-59 (Nadal won 51.6%), Federer won 48.4%)

    Four and Five Set matches: Nadal 5-0
    Two and Three Set Matches: Nadal 4-2

    Do you have the years of these? Nadal was a youngun' when he first started out and when they prob played more 3 set matches than 5 sets.

    Actually, they played more best of 5 setters in their early meeting because most of the Masters tournaments (and some ATP events like Barcelona) had 5 set finals. Federer and Nadal played best of 5 setters at Monte Carlo and Rome in 2006. Nadal won those in 4 and 5 sets.
