Fed said possibly his illness and not having played since AO led to early losses

Does he not realize the same can be said for Nadal?

Nadal had not played since the AO and also had an injury to recover from. Using Fed's logic, anyone coming back from illness or injury or long time off will lose early.

    This may be true.

He hasn't said anything about Nadal, and why should he?

No need to turn this into another flamewar.

The only people this is interesting to are those that are constantly searching for something, anything, negative to say about Federer.

So someone asks him why he lost early in a couple of tournaments. He says, 'I don't know. Maybe it was this. Maybe it was that.'

    Wow what a revelation.

    Who cares.

At least Roger's last singles title was this year in January. Is Rafa still recuperating from an "injury" after he won Barcelona LAST year?

What is your problem? It's been mentioned before that he had lung infection after his charity efforts in Africa.

Fed is doing ok. The guy got a freakin lung infection in an African 3rd world cess pool. Mingling with children who carry the most disease. And the "fans" are comparing it with a certain players Cronic excuses that seem to appear after each and every loss. Never wins. LOL. I did not see many Fed fans going loco after Nadal got thrashed by Roddick. But it makes me consider trolling big time when I listen 2 Nadal "fans" open their big wide open yapping holes with vitriolic splendor.

And it is a Nadal "fan" that is making it into something much more of an issue than it really is. Typical "fans" behavior.

Nadal does not make half the amount of excuses that federer does. Why dont u actually watch some post match interviews? Nadal did not use any "wisdom tooth" excuse, thats rubbish.

Nadal DID NOT use any abdomen excuse when Del Potro destroyed him. He was asked by a reporter and then he refused to blame any abdomen injury and said the reason del potro beat him was because "he played much better" then him. But ofcrouse *******s are morons and cant understand anything. I guess they are still bitter about rafa making roger cry

Is Fed talking about his "lung infection?"

I haven't seen the interview, but it seems to be a pattern. Throw it out there before the tournaments begin, then keep quiet about it while losing, and then put it out there again at just the correct time after the tournaments so it is fresh in people's minds and yet doesn't appear to be an excuse and take credit away from the winners.

    Here's what he actually said:
Doesn't sound to me like he's making excuses, but I guess some people will grab at anything.

Also, this has nothing to do with Nadal! I mean, he's just trying to figure out why he played so badly in IW and Miami. The question was not "why are you playing so badly when Nadal is so amazing?"

Gosh I love the GOAT even more when he shows his emotions. Means sooooo much to him. So much pressure to break the records. And he knew he choked that last set. Knew he failed big time. What a fancy shmancy pants. Tennis is EMO.

    Roger: Rafa
    Rafa: Yes Rog
Roger: I'm sad because i lost this match but I'm equally sad for you. You see, I see things in the present and the future, you know. I can't tell you everything though.
    Rafa: Really?
Roger: Yes. To start, I must tell you there is a giant rat under your arm pit.
    Rafa: Ha?!!!! Where?
Roger: Oh man the things that will happen in the next year. They will make you wear a pink shirt at the French.
    Rafa: I like pink...
Roger: And you're not showing up for Wimbledon?
Rafa:I'm defending champion, I must be there. How can you know this?
Roger:There will be chaos in Tennis Warehouse message boards, people will be banned under your name and mine.....uhuhuh . This is killing me.
Rafa: Stop it Rog. You're cacaing me. No?
Roger: No Rafa, I'm serious as an umpire in a John McEnroe match. Just enjoy this one, will you?

At least I have my excuse ready if Roger loses any slams in the next 18 months.

Actually we should consult TTW's Lung Infection Expert, Dr Breakpoint for more details on how much time it takes to recover, and how the infection can kick in in the middle of a tournament or even match.:-D

    Literally! as in actual tears.

I highly doubt Nadal will make some disperaging comment regarding Federer's performance due to his 'illness'.

He knows better, unlike some others!

The only excuse is why Federer wins too much but leaving so little for the playing field.

    And....

"Rog, please, just please let me win one grand slam. Isn't your trophy room big enough? You know what all the trophies look like so why do you need more of them? Let me win Wimbledon. You said in your victory speech that maybe I will win it this year."

"Come on, Roger. You know I work hard to be a winner and I deserve to win more than just one slam. I am begging you, please! You don't even have to lose to me. Just pick the opponent you want to lose to."

"Alright, if you don't want to lose to someone else, at least let me play the doubles court lines while you play the singles. Work with me here, Roger. There is only so much that Larry Stefanki can do with me and my time is running out."

"ROGER, I SWEAR IF YOU RAISE ONE MORE TROPHY AT MY EXPENSE, I WILL RIP IT OUT OF YOUR ARMS AND PUT MY DEATH GRIP ON IT. THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL GET THE TROPHY TO YOUR TROPHY ROOM IS IF YOU BRING IT THERE WITH ME STILL ATTACHED."
    -Andy Roddick

    Now close your mouth.

All tards like you just cover up for Nadal and reverse the situations to things Roger never did and accuse Federer fans of doing exactly what you do in your posts. You need to play a little more tennis (maybe pick up a racket for the first time in your life), play some tournaments, and realize what it takes to compete before spewing garbage about world class players.
