Both faced someone who was/is playing just plain better than them. People wanted them to win that match/Major, be it for just one last time....

Alas, we know the result of Wimby 2009.....It is Fed's time for payback!

Thought this meant Fed was caught wearing the white Propulse II's. ;)

This board is really desperate for superstitions that'll mean Federer winning.

Superstition 1: The last 4 times Nadal hasn't got to the Wimbledon semi finals, Federer has won wimbledon.

Superstition 2: Federer's won wimbledon in every year he's won indian wells.

Superstition 3: Federer's won wimbledon in every year he's won dubai.

    Bet everything on Federer!

Not sure how you can equate Fed the GOAT to Andy Roddick. Fed may be an underdog this time, but you never know when vintage Fed will show up. He's getting older but still has it in him.

His form looked excellent against Youznhy, he was aware it had to be a tune-up for a showdown with Djoko and it sure looked like he's chomping at the bit, jmo. Might be totally wrong, but I think he has an excellent of winning this.

Not even close, despite what Fed said in that ceremony, he doesn't really know how it feels to be Andy Roddick career wise.

It was a much sadder moment for Roddick in that regard, that was his one last golden chance, Fed still has 6 Wimbledon titles to soften the pain of losing.

Heck, I'm a big Fed fan but even I would have preferred for Rodidck to have won that match.

I would have loved if Roger lost that 2008 wimbledon to roddick instead of nadal.

ARod lost but, in many respects, he was outplaying Fed. Andy broke Roger at least twice before the 5th set. Andy was not broken at all until the 30th game of the 5th set. It took Roger about 4 1/4 hrs for Roger to finally break Andy's serve.

Yeah i actually thought this was about shoes too. I thought maybe he'd ditched the vapor 9's in favor of his lucky vapor sixes or something.

How delusional must one be to even imagine Federer in Roddick's shoes? Get real please.

I don't think Federer will be able to stretch Djoko to 5 sets. Federer can stretch that frenchman to 5 sets however, Benn whatever his name is..
