Since winning his first Grand Slam, Federer has lost three sets or more in a grand slam before the quarterfinals in 5 grand slams.

    09 French Open (lost 5) - won
10 Wimbledon (lost 3) - qf loss to Berdych
11 Australian (lost 3) - sf loss to Djokovic
12 French Open (lost 3) - sf loss to Djokovic
    12 Wimbledon - (lost 3) - ????

Even as a Federer worshiper, things do not look promising.

Perhaps. But what about his record when losing 3 sets before a QF AND when Nadal is out early... 09 French Open. There's still hope!

factor in that nadal had lost in the round before federer had to fight from 2 sets down. Same thing happened at the french in 09 and he won ;)

I like how Fed fans are reaching all the way back to 2009 when he had to fight from 2 sets down just a few weeks ago.

    Lost in straights to Djokovic.

Why do people keep bringing this up? When Nadal lost in the French, Federer had a CLEAR ROAD to the title.

Djokovic, the tournament favorite, is still playing.
