I am surprised that no one has mentioned that this is the 11th time that Federer and Novak have played in a grand slam. This is an all time record.

There have been 13 head to head matches in Grand Slam history where the two players have played 8 or more times in Grand Slams.

Federer is in 4 of these head to head matches.

    Nadal - 2-8
    Djokovic - 5-5
    Roddick - 8-0
    Hewitt 8-0

Interestingly, only one player even has 3 of these head to head matches. Nadal. Against Djokovic - 6-3, Federer 8-2, and Murray 6-2

If one player ALWAYS shows up, he can have so many slam rivalries

Thanks, that's interesting. I would have thought there would be a couple of players who had met more in slams. Can you post the full list of 13?

I'm sure Fed and Djokovic will keep meeting in slams (best matchup going, even if Nole keeps pulling further ahead). I just hope it's in finals instead of all these semis.

Wow, how is it possible that Novak and Fed have more often than Fedal. Someone please explain that one!
