Not very surprising, but it's amazing still the amount of weeks these 2 have taken the top 2 spots of the ATP Rankings. Close to 7 years in the case of Nadal, and 7 1/2 years for Fed.

    Nadal:
    7-25-2005 to 8-10-2009 = 210
    9-14-2009 to 1-18-2010 = 19
    5-17-2010 to 6-25-2012 = 110
    __________________________
    TOTAL 339

    Federer:
    8-11-2003 to 8-25-2003 = 3
    11-17-2003 to 6-21-2010 = 344
    8-16-2010 to 9-6-2010 = 4
    10-18-2010 to 3-7-2011 = 21
    7-9-2012 to 7-30-2012 = 4

I wonder if they can make it to 500 weeks a piece.

Why does weeks at #2 matter?

Why do you want to make this thread another pi55ing contest?

It doesn't? OK, let me add it to the list of things that don't count.

    1. H2H against Nadal.
    2. Number of weeks at #2.
    3. A classically proportioned nose.
    4. Olympics Singles Gold medal (subject to being revised within 2 weeks).

I was just wondering, as #2 (in the real scheme of things) doesn't really matter. #1 is what really counts.

You are spending time reading my idiotic musings. What does that make you?

You don't think that having spent around 7 years in the top 2 spots counts? OK, I don't feel the same, and I'm sure most people agree with me. Djokovic and Murray certainly have to agree with me, no?

Djokovic and Murray have been locked in 3rd and 4th place for about five years, does that matter as much as 2nd?

Typical. Start a thread to highlight the achievements of Federer AND Nadal only to have it derailed by insecure radical fans.

You can't even respond intelligently without insulting. But it's OK, you can't help it. Don't know any better, can't ask anything else from you. Carry on.

Who said I was a fan? I'm just wondering what your viewpoint on Djokovic and Murray being in 3rd and 4th for five (or nearly five years) is.

Nadal is the greatest second fiddle in tennis history. Congrats.

That's a fair question. It means basically that they have been very consistent, but not as good as the top 2. The answer is a little of a double-edged sword. I think in many ways Djokovic and Murray must feel like the most unlucky players ever (although historically there are many more). Djokovic successfully broke through decisively last year, though, so good for him. I'm still waiting for Murray to emulate him, and I'll be very happy when that happens.

Yes, but he upstages the first fiddle almost every time they play together. 8)
