    More evidence at that Fed-God has had MUCH greater peak dominance then Pete. And I was a pete fan in the 1990s.

    Okay this is a big pet peeve of mine.

    Sampras was *not* number 1 for six straight years. He was *not* number 1 for three straight years either. In fact Sampras wasn't even number 1 for two years straight - he managed 102 weeks.

    Sampras was *year-end* number 1 for six straight years. Even though both players' accomplishments are legendary, there is a massive difference between the two acheivements.

    When people say "six straight years @#1" it is the year end rank they are talking about. That is EVERY sport that has rankings. Unless you have a Super Bowl or World Series that is.

    Yes, I know they mean 'year end' ranking. Problem is that they don't always specify the "year end" part - which leads to confusion.
