I just read that Fed beat Kohlshreiber (the german player, sorry for the misspell) pretty easily in Monte Carlo.

Fed is still fast but not as two or three years ago. So, a slow clay court could suit him well and I think he could surprise and win some clay tournaments.

    Comments?

Note- My comment is objective as I have always been a Nadal fan.:)

Federer played a good match but the scoreline is misleading.

Federer became a clay court specialist. He said he will play only clay tournaments from now on, he's on a quest to beat Nadal 20 times in row.Let me find that interview.

I think he'll be a lot better than last year atleast, which was a pretty bad clay season by his standards.

Kohlschreiber gets 3/10 from me today, way too many easy errors.

I'll give Federer 7/10 because of the weird lapses at 40-0 on his own serve.

Overall a decent performance from Federer even though he wasn't tested at all. Can't wait for Federer-Cilic (hope Marin wins tomorrow)

Cilic sucks on clay. Actually he sucks on all surfaces this year. I expect similar result and Federer not being tested at all.

As strange as it may sound, Fed has to get back his concentration and patience. Bring back his "before being daddy" playing style:)

Against everyone except the top two Federer starts like a whirlwind, goes up 3-0 and then he seems to lose interest and goes through on autopilot. Against the top two he never gets into the match. At the moment he's cemented at the #3 spot.

Kohl just didn't play his best and was playing a average federer.....unlucky it wasn't shankville version.

We will see....if Federer beats Ferrer or Almagro and top of that push Nadal to 3 sets in the final. Then we can say he is playing better.

I think Fed might do alright on clay this year, the slower ball will mean his slower footwork isnt so detrimental

Isaw Kohlschreibers previous match vs Golubev and was surprised he came thru in 3 sets bearing in mind his very negative mentality - not surprised Fed stuffed him,
