He's right. Hopefully they will implement this as soon as possible.

It's also funny how Djesus is completely against a biological passport. What's he afraid of?

    And Fed is right.

This is the first step towards some kind of legitimate testing program.

So Fed doesn't get tested at all..... shows he has clearly escaped the axe this time. so much for Fed fans who cried fould when Djoker told he was never tested for 6 months and when Murray for more blood tests.

the way old man played 2 back to back 5 setters against young guns like Tsonga and Murray should have triggered a red signal for WADA.

All of a sudden Pederer calls for bilogical passport, he sure must be involved in all this PED thingy, otherwise why would he raise his voice....something fishy!

And your point is? Federer looked spent at the end of the Murray match.

At the very least when you win a grand slam you should get blood tested. Duh. Federer went out in the SF. Djoker won. He should have been tested. End of story.

    Q. Would you be in favor of like a biological passport program that they're instituting in cycling for tennis?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I mean, you know, we can discuss about the options for a while. But generally I believe that the present regulations about anti‑doping tests in tennis are good, in my views. I don't think there should be any major changes because, as you know, it's official. We have to write where we are every day of our lives so they have an opportunity to test us every day of 365 days in a year.
I think that doesn't give anybody a chance to do something that is unsportsmanlike

If he seriously said that after Armstrong demonstrated perfectly the folly of the whereabouts rule having much effect on PEDs use then Djokovic isn't as smart as some would claim. A drunk teenager could see the hole in his reasoning there.

Federer plays a very efficient style of tennis. He didn't look all to fresh against Murray either.

If Federer upsets you so much, why not have a look at Jimmy Connors, who at the age of 96 years old played 2 grueling 5-setters (including coming back from two sets to love at one point, and being in trouble against Haarhuis, only to come back and reach the semifinals of the USO in 91? PED's? Nope. It's all in the willingness to fight. Federer might look relaxed and smooth on the court, but deep down there's a desire to win every match.

And of course, every player should be tested during of immediately after a slam.

So what still played 2 back to back 5 setters at this age. Nothing other than doping to my eyes.

Doperer was saved by not testing!

Duh if winners were the ones to be tested, Pederer would have been caught long back in 2007 when he won 10 slams in 3 years.

If anyone who should be rigorously tested, it needs to be Fed.

I'd like to think most players now know better, but I'm not going to presume the worst because a busy professional athlete doesn't spend his days reading tennis forums and conspiracy theory blogs, so is lagging a bit behind.

I say it's up to the ITF to make sure the players know and understand the facts.

Mind you, some people are never happy. After dedicating far too much time to discussing how the tennis world is in denial about the potential for a doping problem, those very same people see new conspiracies when the top players start asking for the better controls they supposedly want themselves.

Call me bonkers, but if players have heard about what happened with Armstrong, and they aren't totally stupid, they won't need a PR person to tell them it's a problem. Even if a PR person has suggested they may wish to speak out about it, this should be welcomed by anyone who genuinely wants to see better controls. The only reason to complain about any player speaking out is if you don't actually want progress in doping controls, and would prefer to keep the status quo where there is plenty of opportunity to make accusations of any player you don't like.

Anyway, I think the momentum is there now. It's inevitable that increased blood testing has to happen, and it's probably only a matter of time before the blood passports come in. It's being asked about at every press conference, so if a player doesn't know the issues yet, they're going to need to do their research.

Pederer fans out in full force to defend their idol.

Where were these trolls when Nadal/Djokovic and Murray were accused of doping in other threads?

TT is about to explode with my claims about Pederer

Are you talking about Federer? I guess your F key is broken and you can't afford to get it fixed? Yes he would have if he had been doping!!!! Haha!!!! I remember seeing pressers after Fed's wins at Wimbledon and you could clearly see the bandaid on his arm where he had been tested. So there you go! Innocent!!!

what's he supposed to do? Retire from the match rather than play the 5 sets like your buddy Dopervic has been so proficient at (11 retirements)? Federer doesn't do that. In fact he's never retired from a match in over 15 years on tour. Impressive isn't it?

this is interesting because there seems to be an article in the news almost everyday about a top player urging there to be more tests and more thorough ones and at the same time they all say 'from what i know tennis is a pretty clean sport'. so if they think its so clean why are they pushing for more testing??

Even if a player were convinced he were the only clean member of the tour, he'd have to be incredibly stupid to say so.

Although more recently, the players are saying that it's the only way to be sure tennis is clean, which is a bit of a shift, but falls short of saying they think it's dirty.

Also, even if they are convinced tennis is totally clean, they will have noticed that some other people don't think it's clean, so it's perfectly reasonable that they'd like to protect themselves from accusations of cheating.

They're just pissed that Novak is not going away. He had the most finals in 2009 (10), in 2011 (11) and in 2012 (11). Faced with such remarkable consistency, their only fantasy left is to try and find a way to delegitimize the wins. (Not gonna happen of course given that Djoko is the real thing). Talk about desperate measures :)

You should talk. Nadal has struggled more against Djokovic in the past year and a half than Federer has. Can you imagine what would have happened if Nadal played Djokovic on hc in the form Nadal was in at Vina Del Mar?

Just for the record, several years ago Federer said that all samples collected should be frozen and saved for many years. I don't know if ITF is doing this. I don't think so.

Wow i wonder why someone who calls himself Djokodal Fan would be the loudest voice on a thread about a biological passport? Hmmmm. You and your alternate account Tony48 have a lot to lose if the passport is adopted. You'll have to eat many plates of crow as you scurry back into your hole with your tail between your legs. I can't wait.

Then you're a moron. Ever hear of training? Which by the way, while were on this doping subject. Until I hear differently from the people who do the testing. I don't think anyone here should be accusing Djokovic, Federer, Murray or Nadal of it. Now I agree in light of the horrid news of Armstrong, it's obvious that there are ways around it. However it's still irresponsible for any of us to say well that persons doping because of their wins.
