Fed is far from cruising. They split sets, and are in the third. Fed likely will win, but I didn't expect Davydenko to give him this much trouble.

    It's 6-2, 3-6, 1-1, so far.

Federer appears ill, has that green in the gills look. He is shanking tons of balls and Davydenko is hitting the ball big.

Doesn't look good for Fed this tournament.

Yeah, I agree. I just got back from a Little League game and turned on the TV, and it's defnitely not the usual Fed out there. He was just broken, and its 3-1, ND in the third set.

Roger broke back, but it was because of Davydenko's mistakes. I think he just woke up and realized he may just beat the No. 1 player, and got a bit tight. So back on serve . . . But I haven't seen Fed play this poorly in a long time.

What a great third set. Roger did win, 7-5, but he had some help from Davydenko, who had his chances. Roger is going to have to play better, or he isn't going to win the tournament, that's for sure. I haven't seen him shanking so many balls in years. But it was windy, and that seemed to be bothering him a lot. Good effort by Davydenko.
