Over my years of playing I have come across many players who idolize Roger Federer to the extent that they buy all His kit, play with His racquets and strings, and refuse to wear anything but His shoes. Having judged these people all my life, I have slowly become one of them. I'm sure there are many such people on this forum, so please post about all the purchases of Federer's kit you own/play with, and post pictures if possible!

I don't have his racquets, but i wear the same shoes (they're simply the best shoe for me) and i'd like to wear his shirts/shorts. They have the best designs for peeps who prefe rto wear something a bit less flashy, too bad they're horribly ridiculously overpriced.

Sadly yes. Maybe it's not so prevalent in the adult tourneys, but on the junior circuit there are a fair few. It's Grigordimitrovitis :)

There's a kid in one of my local parks, Nadal'd up and keeps his frames in clear plastic bags.

Hahaha I'm not going to lie, I've been double socking forever, but I did steal the dual color scheme that Federer once rocked.

Say Chin Sin Lo, I vaguely remeber watching you hit, and thinking you fell into this category perfectly with all Fed kit + use of 6.1 90s. Not judging, I do it too!

I use the PS85... keep up with the times yo. :)

Also, I wear either Nike Legend/Training Tees or their ~$30-40 polos, not to mention I wear my wristband on my left arm.

Ok fair enough sorry. I have also recently switched to the PS85 (Oh my god it's good!).
Personally I have a collection of 5 90s (2 Ncodes, 2 K-Factors, 1 BLX), a pair of prestige mids I got when I thought I wasn't good enough for the 90s :) ,and two PS85s (1 real 1 fake). I also use the Fed 12 bag (one with Wimby trophies), and try to wear nike if possible. I have tried to build my playing style to match Fed's (including tactics and playing patterns).

My point is that I know that there are many more people like me. We are deluded, possibly embarrassed, but the earthly embodiments of The God of Tennis!

I used to have a "Federer signature/limited edition" Wilson bag, and I'm sorry, but it was utter trash.

I was very disappointed with the quality and have since sold it for another bag.

Personally I love the bag, for Wilson I think the quality is pretty good. Nothing beats looking at those seven trophies lined up at the change of ends.

Sadly yes. I wish they put as much effort into their bags as they do their rackets. And I refuse point blanc to use a technifibre bag with wilson rackets. This bag is the best bag with Wilson written on the side.

That's also not saying much... I bought a used re-issued PS85 so I could demo it extensively. And it was nearly ~8grams overweight.

That's why I paid to have TW match my batch for me.

Yes QC is awful, but the rackets themselves are works of art. I have tried the best from head, babolat, dunlop, prince and others, but nothing comes close to PS85 (or K90 for that matter).

It's personal preference. I grew up using Prestige Mids (i and PC600), and those are in no way inferior to the Pro Staffs.

I buy many of his shirts - but rarely wear them on the courts. The collared shirts are standard fare for Casual Friday at work; and many others just to wear around town. But I love some of the Nadal (before the bull logo was put on them) and 'other player' designs and buy them too. Waiting for Jan 1 for the Dimitrov Stockholm henley. With shorts it's mostly the generic designs; but did love the platinum shorts Fed wore not too long ago. Sneakers - love the V9's but also use the Nike City Courts. Head racquets.

I buy regular Nike Tennis Shorts but I wear RF collared shirts and Vapor 9s (although it has to compete with my last few pairs of NB 1001 I had left and Asics Resolution 4 & 5). No collars are a no go for me but that's just me. Still (from time to time) uses the K90 and BLX PS 90 and to a lesser extent K88. SV PS85 (but did he ever used the SVs?) is kept since it is my last one.

Play with his sticks. String my own way with totally different string and tension. Don't wear his shoes, I like Barricades more. Wear his hat sometimes and tshirts or jacket, but that's it. Oh, and have his old bag from a couple years ago. I like the look/fit of it. I look and play like Dimitrov though. ;)

I trust if Nike rolls out RF logo underwear (for outside wear, ala Superman and Batman of yonderyears) it'll sell like iced lemonade on a hot summer's day!

I agree the prestige mids are also very nice (forgot about them), but they're still not the 90s.

I once saw a picture of Federer's hand with a very impressive blister/callus on his palm, and I have the same blister spot on my palm.

Who can top me?! That's right, I'm going biological on you fools. Come at me bro.

Excellent post. A lot of guys at my club have the same callous. Sadly, 4 out of every 5 is a paintjobbed callous. Poseurs. The good news is that these fans are impervious to a class action suit.

    Non-Paintjob? Impressive.

    Lol, man...
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!

Little known RF fact: Sampras and austin powers had the same idea, and that was in the 90s while RF was still in juniors! This is truly a phenomenon. Prescient, retro-fanboyism.
Today, the trend among aging Fedfans is to stay one step ahead of their beloved RF as they attempt to grow luxurious back and ear hair. It is kind of like no shave november, only for life. Already a big hit at the pool and at the beach! Allez Rog!

Kidding. Dedicated RF fan here. i am generally described as a flexible shotmaker with nice touch and a versatile one handed bh. Though I don't have a lot of wilson or nike gear, I personally am doing my part with gut mains, poly crosses, a receding hairline, some uncharacteristic mental frailty and a shanktastic high backhand. And i am trying to work more sarcasm into my press conferences while relying on my serve more and more. Hopp Schwiiiz!

All kidding aside though, if your skin isn't thick and tough there, and you just get a blister, then it's terrible. Because you just can't tape for the palm. :(

I'm lucky that I've got enough tough skin there to prevent any blisters.

I have used the Federer K-Factor 90 with gut and poly and it was great but ultimately too heavy for my size and age. My wife also has bought me vavious Federer ***** and shorts. I too have a one-handed backhand, but had mine before Federer was even born...

^Kimguroo, well done. How do you make those cool little logos?^

Nice. Me too. One hander since the day I started tennis with foam balls and a sawed-off Bancroft Bjorn BLX paintjob in 1973. RF probably copied us.

I have 2 prostaff 90s (2012 and 2013), 2 vapor 9s (one black with red flames and the more recent navy). Also, have a RF cap. The cap is the cheapest thing with the RF logo I believe. I try to wear Nike polos with nike white shorts to imitate the federer look :) The actual nike RF polos and shorts are too expensive for me.
