    Review both Borg and Federer.

What's specific to Federer is the small adjustment steps, including "stutter steps" he makes on the toes of his feet before setting up his final semi-open/open stance.

You can do that too if you have your knees well flexed and are able to move laterally and backwards via small jumping steps, like getting the feel of the court through your toes. He's never glueing his feet until setting up.

one can see that the latest athletic stance (Federer) is more demanding (knees more flexed)
amazing adjustment/braking small steps by Borg
