Fed's fans realize that when Fed cannot win matches, he can focus on winning some irrelevant popularity contests/polls.

I'd be surprised if any other member of the Big 4 is even playing at 31.

No he is not good enough to beat federer on his c game unless federer is playing crap. don't be such a bandwagon Murray ****. ;) None of the top 4 could beat each other on their c game unless the other was playing total crap and donating games but handing over 3 of 4 points without the other guy even hitting a shot. Hell a no armed man would have got to at least 40-15 in that game.

Double fault no 5 or 6 for Federer? And it's only his 4th service game

A Federer first serve is more likely to go in than a federer second serve at this point.

Looks like Federer is never going to win a set off of Murray again (or, if he does, he won't ever beat Murray). It's looking very likely that Murray will establish a Nadal-like dominance over Federer. All the double-faults seem to indicate that Federer doesn't have balls against Murray anymore.

Federer's accuracy on serve is just completely gone today.

Even you can't fool yourself into thinking that Facebook likes are the only metric for popularity. Fed is immensely popular with kids and adults alike, but I don't know too many adults who waste their time on Facebook. But thanks for pointing out that even amongst a younger audience, Rafa's domain, Federer still has the lead. The gap is even wider than I thought.

I was being sarcastic Towser, surprised you didn't catch on it.

Fed is doing an excellent impersonation of Coria today.

It's a two-horse race between Murray and Djokovic for the #1 ranking.

Like that's a good metric to describe one's popularity. I clicked "like" on both Federer and Nadal (and a lot of other tennis players). Does it mean I'm a fan of both? LOL you're going full r today.

I think that 2012 Wimbledon title is the equivalent of Sampras' last US Open title. Only Sampras didn't have the distraction of the Olympics, so it was an easy decision to retire right away. I think Federer would have considered retiring after that Wimbledon if there was no Olympics. And I think if Federer senses he's about to be Murray's whipping boy, he may retire very soon.

Thought I wouldn't say this, but I miss Rafito.

Fed is too old and Novak is not playing that well to beat pushers like Murray.

Everybody likes to beat Roger when he's down a little. He'll come back and win the 2nd set don't you worry.

Absolute crapfest from Federer. I hope he knows that if he loses today, he can say goodbye to the year-end-no-1

I don't know what match you're watching, because Murray is being hyper-aggressive. Now if only he was likeable.

For a guy who supports a player that didn't lose to Federer too much, you are remarkably butthurt.

Murray's playing pretty damn well though, and he's favoured on these courts, he loves Shanghai.

Fed has to step up big time to win today. 1st serve % low (and rolling them in a lot), numerous double faults, wild misses from the baseline.

    Surprised Murray didn't break there.

But wtf is Federer doing at 40-0, 2 easy errors and he let Murray back in.

Murray is playing SUPER AGGRESSIVE. Great to see. He's just killing all the returns.

Too bad for me, he's doing it against Fed LOL.
