    According to Tennis:

"You can’t do anything against genetics and the body, as you get older the body loses power," said Moya, who also believes that Djokovic will eventually reach No. 1. "Federer's case reminds me of [Pete] Sampras, when everyone thought he should retire and in his last tournament, he won the U.S. Open. The greatest player in history can never be counted out. I hope Federer keeps playing his best because it is a pleasure to watch him play. I hope he can extend his career to its fullest and don’t rule out him winning another Grand Slam. Wimbledon is the one where he’ll have the most chances. When he retires, we will realize how big it is and we will miss him."

I thought Moya once said Sampras was the GOAT, changed his mind now?

Traitor Moya is saying that Fed is the GOAT, not Nadal, who is his protege.

He said Nadal and Federer were nothing compared to Sampras during 2006 when Federer had 9 slams, while Rafa had only 2. Both Federer and Nadal have won 7 slams since then.

Yeah seriously. It's not illegal to adjust your opinion when you get more new information. In fact, its encouraged.

Classy comments from Moya. Sure, Federer is not the best player in the world anymore, but he is still #3, and can beat anyone on tour still, just not in every match (then again...that applies to everyone). He will be a threat in any major until the day he retires. Maybe not the favorite, but a threat for sure.

I don't think Moya has ever claimed that Nadal was the GOAT.

He can say his protege Nadal is the GOAT when Nadal has 17 slams.

(Rafa is only halfway through his career, and its physically impossible to be GOAT at age 24 haha, so Moya would never be able to justify Rafa being GOAT until Rafa is old enough to get the 16)
