    Hello, I found this image:

On the tag, the usual tension an strings are included, but what caught my attention was that both strings were to be pre stretched on that particular racquet, does anyone know if Roger uses the machine pre stretch or he gets his strings pre stretched the manual way??

    THANKS!

This must be a really old photo. Before he started using Priority One, does anyone know when Roger started using P1 services?

The racket says k factor, so it couldn't be too long ago.

That's a good question because this was a K90, so his association with P1 must no be too old...

The photo is real, and it also definately Roger's racket.
Incidentally, this pic is from the Tournament in Estoril, to which P1(as far as I know) did not travel. They do not travel to each event Roger takes part in, for instance I believe Roger had his rackets strung by somebody else at Halle in Germany too over the years...
Concerning the pre stretch, I am not sure.

Ok thank you very much for the information provided, I'm asking this because I tried one of my racquets with machine pre stretch and I was very tight, so I was wondering if he uses the machine pre stretch or a manual pre stretch...
Maybe Ron Yu can enlighten me on this!

    THANKS!

Chances are the pre-stretch will be by hand as P1 use Babolat Star 4's which don't have a pre-stretch facility.

The tag in the racket handle has the name of a guy i know from here, Portugal, called Rui Neves, he's a Wilson stringer at Estoril Open.

I believe that picture is from 2008, RF won that edition by the way...

That's a very good point, so by now we almost can conclude that Fed gets his frames with pre stretched by hand strings :)

what is the difference between machine pre stretch and manual pre stretch?
does it depend on what strings you use and what tension they will be strung to?

From my personal experience, machine pre stretch doesn't work, here it is why, the machine tensions the string 10% or more in every pull and then releases it at the desired tension, so lets say you string @ 60 lbs, so in pre stretch mode the machine will pull up to 66 lbs then it will release @ 60 this is why the string stertches and has more capability to retain tension. The problem is when you get with the crosses, what happens is that now that the mains are there, when the machine pulls harder, the crosses don't return to their original place and to the desired tension, so you end up with a very iregular string job with some crosses tighter than the others and so on...
