Just a classic clip i found. Look at what Federer has done. His head seems to be still more and more as the years go by. Thats ballstriking 101. Also his hip roation is just legendary.

And his 2005 forehand was his greatest of all time.

OMG. This person fails at selecting appropriate background music. Also, there is really no major difference between the way Fed hits his forehand (mechanically) between now and 2002

No doubt it is great but Federer's forehand was sooo much better in his peak. Federer of 2005 didnt miss forehands by meters like Fed does now. Olympics 2008, Miami 2009:shock:, Rome 2009, early french open rounds, US open final all featured Federer making uncharacteristic forehand errors.

Federer has always had good and bad days, but his best is still as good as it ever was, probably even better.

2004 was clearly his most powerful year as far as hitting off both wings. He seemed to take a bigger cut at the ball and just UNLOAD on it back then.

I would definitely say 2004 Federer was the best forehand I've ever seen.

I agree, 2004 was the most dominant year for him.

This is my vote, and best footwork would be 2003

What would be the difference in FH and footwork in 2003-2004 compared with his two best years 2005-2006?

Actually, 2005 and 2006 were a bit better.

Overall 2005 could have been his finest year of all time if he won TMC on a bad ankle.

No way is 2 Grand Slam titles > 3 Grand Slam titles...just because of 2 more total losses in 04 than 05.

2006 was hands down his best year on paper...and he set a record for bagels dished out with 19...but in terms of the pure power and overall effectiveness of his strokes, I think 2004 was him at his peak.
