It's surely not very fair to either of them that they will have to win three important matches in three days to win the tournament. Group B is majorly disadvantaged by the scheduling. Why can't have a day off in between the end of group matches and the semi-finals? They're already finishing on Monday. Why not finish on Tuesday instead?

They'll have to play eachother, Nadal and Djokovic in 3 days to win the tournament. Good luck with that.

Fed in 2, just because of that lost match today. He is big man after all and despite Fed's erratic play during this year, he is fresh for the 'challenge'. Might be wrong but lets see.

Fed can take down the big guy from Tandil.

I hope Federer, but won't mind if Delpo does it.

If Fed beats Delpo in 2, and Gasquet beats Djoke miraculously, Fed actually grabs the top spot in this group...my very wishful thinking...

Surely a 3 setter. I want to see Nadal vs Delpo so hoping he can get over his loss to Nole and finish off grandfather.

I think the FedExpress will run out of steam against the young pretender.

I may be wrong - sorry if it's the case - but I think that Fed would also take the top spot by beating delPo in 3 :

Currently, in the SET win/loss, Federer has 3-2. Djoko has 4-2.
    - If Fed win in 2, and Gasquet win in 2 : it will make 5-2 for Fed, 4-4 for Djoko.
    - If Fed win in 2, and Gasquet win in 3 : it will make 5-2 for Fed, 5-4 for Djoko.
    - If Fed win in 3, and Gasquet win in 2 : it will make 5-3 for Fed, 4-4 for Djoko.
    - If Fed win in 3, and Gasquet win in 3 : it will make 5-3 for Fed, 5-4 for Djoko.
In All situation, if Fed and Gasquet win, Fed take the top spot.

Anyway, it won't happens as delPo and Djoko will win...

actually the tie breaker if 2 players are tied is determined by the h2h. In this case, it's 1-0 for Djokovic regardless of whether Fed or Del Potro wins. He has already clinched top spot.

Sets/games won only matters if 3 players are tied.

This is so complicated, every year it gives me a headache. I just hope the organizers know what they're doing because this stupid system is completely incomprehensible for the layperson.

By the way, Nadal still can finish at spot 2 if berdych win in 2 sets against him, right ?
    A Nadal/Djoko semi could happen then !

    Group B is more complicated.

If Berdych beats Nadal (2 or 3 sets) and Wawrinka loses, the rankings are 1. Berdych 2. Nadal

If Berdych beats Nadal in 2 sets and Wawrinka wins, the rankings are 1. Berdych and 2. Nadal

If Berdych beats Nadal in 3 sets and Wawrinka wins, the rankings are 1. Nadal and 2. Berdych

    ------------------

If Berdych loses and Wawrinka wins, the rankings are 1. Nadal and 2. Wawrinka

If Berdych loses and Wawrinka loses, the rankings are 1. Nadal and 2. Berdych

It isn't that complicated. Only the two scenarios that Berdych loses are viable. Does anyone seriously think Berdych is going to beat Nadal ever again anywhere.

Fed can beat Delpo. He's just done it in Paris and imo he looks a bit better than Delpo again this week.

Yea it's very complicated - the winner of the Federer-Del Potro match goes through and the loser doesn't.

    I don't even

Delpo is coming off a tough match against Djoker while Fed is coming off an easy 2 set win against Gasquet. Fed will have more in the tank, and Delpo looks like his tank is almost empty. Fed in straights, unless Delpo comes out in early God Mode.

This Novak clinched the top spot in the group already. He don't have to win a single point vs Gasquet.

Wrist knew that he did not need to put effort against ankle since Back can easily be defeated nowadays. Wrist in 2. He is rather happy to play knee in semis.

I am afraid the Back will break the Wrist bad today. Irrespective of whether it is the Back or Wrist facing it tomorrow, the Knee will pulverize it.

Funnier still will be if the Brain somehow takes out the Ankle in the other semi before undergoing another lobotomy at the hands of the Knee in the final.

Welcome back from "25" year coma. Hope Connors lasts 5 sets in his next coaching gig.

I am going with Fed in 2 (7-5, 6-4). Del Po is tired and there is enough in the tank for the old man.

Why is this match at 2 ?, the gasquet djokovic match is meaningless , I have a gaelic football match at 3 so I am going to miss it.Why not have it on primetime tv at 8?

Fed CANNOT top Group B after Djokovic beat Delpo.

If Djokovic defeats Gasquet, he goes 3-0 and qualifies 1st.

If Djokovic loses to Gasquet, both him and Federer will end up 2-1. When there are two player ties, the head-to-head is used to determine 1st and 2nd places. (Note head-to-head means whoever won their RR match earlier on, NOT 16-15 to Federer). So Djokovic will still end up 1st since he beat Federer.

If Fed plays to his skills, then it will be a good game and Fed can dispatch Nadal. If Fed plays to his mental weaknesses, bow to the slow GOAT :).

Those are very balanced semifinals. Wawrinka is the worst guy to face Djokovic from group A (aside from Nadal) and could be some trouble. Nadal will struggle with Del Potro, as we saw in Shanghai. I Federer wins, this will very much be Fed's Last Stand so he won't be a pushover.

And I really hope Federer wins. Del Potro is one of the players I cannot tolerate whereas Federer is the GOAT and deserves a spot. Also, I want to see a Djokodal final, since these two have been by far the best players of the year and I think Nadal will prefer to face Federer.

I really don't care what happens in the semis as long as we get the Djokodal showdown in the end. More than 48 hours to wait seems like an eternity, I'm so pumped about it
