    Fed has no chance against Nadal the very next day anyway, so I rather he loses to Delpo and prepare well for the next season and don't play those stupid exhos in South America.

    Totally agree. I hope Fed in 2 so he is not spent when he plays the semis.
    Otherwise DP should be in good position to make inroads should he play Rafa in the semis.

    If Federer beats JMDP he will lose his perfect indoor record against Nadal.

    Indeed I have, I have better seats for the afternoon SF and I expect Nadal's match to be first.

    I think Fed would beat Nadal in the semis. Just a feeling though. I know our heads tell most of us something else :p

    We, tennis fans, want to draw Federer against Nadal.

    And Nadal probably prefers it too.

    Not exactly. He played a pretty poor match against Novak and wasn't exactly great Gasquet either. Nadal has definitely played slightly better than him, although he isn't exactly lighting fire as well.

    Why do some people call players' injured body parts instead of their names??
    Is it fun??

    So just to get it straight:

    Nadal = knee
    Federer = back
    Delpo = wrist
    Djokovic = brain?

    Yes, it is only funny if you actually wish injuries on your protege's opponents like Toni did.

    Exactly. No one here is wishing players to be injured. That is characteristic of both Tony and Rafael Nadal and their fan base. Only they can sink so low.

    We are just having a sense of humor. How is calling someone "brain", wishing him injury. Which injury? Brain injury? lol.

    Why? Federer has a much better record against Nadal at the 02.

    I think Federer goes through del Potro. Juan struggled in his match against Gasquet.

    Yeah. I don't know what these people are talking about. He's been perfect against Rafa on this surface.

  31. Fed has been terrible in 2013, he has no confidence in himself. If for example he was a set and a break up against Rafa all rafa would need to do is break back and the match would be over.

    And if he had half as much brains as Nadal, he would strategically tank against Delpo in order to preserve his perfect record. Given his form this year, if he qualifies for the semi against Nadal, it is a certain goodbye to the perfect record. But he won't do it and will either take out Delpo or will sufficiently tire him out for his BFF in the semi :D

    Ha. Don't you wish !

    Goodness. Why are you guys so insecure? We have Federer fans rooting for Federer to go down in the round robin stages of this tournament just so he can avoid the potential match against Nadal. Some of the Federer fan's here are as obsessed with h2h records as the Nadal fans they accuse of overhyping h2h records.

    I don't think it is a question of brains. Federer will try to win the match because he probably doesn't understand or care about fanboy logic.

    But players usually rediscover the magic when they come back to a tournament that they've won so many times. I think he played Djokovic very well in the first round, and that was with the nerves of an opening match.

    He should have confidence against del Potro, he always makes the big guy bend. He should also be confident against Rafa since he leads him on this surface.

    That's the beauty of tennis. This is a new day and Roger has tons of experience. I'm sure he's already swatted his losing match aside.

    He has nothing to lose. He can play freely. del Po wants to show he belongs. Rafa and Novak are vying to be the alpha male of tennis, and Stan wouldn't dare beat Federer at this stage of his career.

    If Federer can beat delpo, there is a even bigger chance to beat Rafa.
    Federer is a champion, they never ever tank.

    I think you're going to be wrong. Federer is going to win tomorrow.

    I don't particularly wish anything on this tournament. It's the end of the season. The players are beat up, and the quality is never good.

    Congrats to whoever wins.

    Lol. Wtf is like the most lousy play of all tournaments.
    Just ridiculous to sit there and watch how they make a show out of it on ace, bp etc. Just very strange! Maybe for people who never watch tennis before it is exciting.

    This dark movie voice saying ACE.. And the whole stadium trembler. Gosh so stupid! It is much more stupid there than on tv.

    From an objective point of view, I don't kow how anyone can predict anything other than Rafa victory if Nadal v Federer SF happens. Federer is making some sort of a comeback but he still looks vulnerable. Rafa has been playing better than ever this year and although people say he's not in top form in London, I don't see Fed beating Rafa here. Let's be honest. I don't think anyone would bet on Roger over Rafa right now if they were to play against each other.

    I think it is opposite. Newer tennis fans are the ones who always rag on the YEC for being a lousy tournament.

    I started watching tennis religiously in 2002 and I always enjoyed the tournament and some of the best matches I have ever seen happened at the YEC. Compared to a slam, it is nothing, but it is no less watchable than other masters events.

    It's an exhibition. They need to make it more entertaining so it can compete with true ATP events like Basel and Sao Paolo.

    Ouch, there goes your credibility.

    Watching the top eight players play it out with one another is boring compared to watching them (usually) spanking some qualifier / low ranked player 6-1/6-3 ?

    I've heard various kinds of reasons why the WTF is trashed and called a cheesy exo (usually it just has to do with the smoke or fog as the players come out, or the round-robin format which some kids don't understand) but this takes the cake.

    I always find it funny that people say WTF is supposedly low quality. So are Masters 1000 events high quality? LOL. The matches in most masters events are utterly dismal. Nadal vs Djokovic in Montreal was like the only memorable masters 1000 match this year. Murray tanked like every masters event this year. Djokovic lost to Dimitrov, Isner, Berdych, and Haas. Federer was lousy all year.

    Heck, all of pro tennis is an exhibition. They are like the harlem globetrotters.

    Hope you are right but i disagree with Stan bowing down to Fed should they meet.. Why? Cause at this stage in his own career its time to show what he is made of instead of being subordinate to Feds .
