There's the match we've been waiting for. Murray somehow managed to survive his brutal draw and there he is in the SF. Federer had a stroll. Thoughts?

court favors murray so much more. will be a very tough match for federer, but murray has not looked that great this tournament.

At the start of the tourney I predicted Fed would lost SF to Murray in 4 while having a 5 setter on the way so sticking to that, I'd love to see Fed prove me wrong but Muzza in 4.

    Murray in 4 looks right.

But I'll be delusional and say Federer in 5.

Given the way Fed played in the QF, I think Andy has this.

Too close to call! Roger was not great today but he's looked awesome till today! Murray cruising through but has played nobody of note and has had wobbles even in those matches!

Going with Roger in 4 but I think it's going to be close and could go either way

Had finally a good feeling about a Federer grandslam match against Tsonga. That almost went wrong, so going with Murray in 3.

Hope Federer has an awesome day though and does it in 4. Fed's serving and Murray's ability to get Fed's serve back in play (with interest) will be the key factor imo.

Murray is one of the best returners like Djokivic but Isner on this court would still have smacked aces and got a loads of free points which would have made him very tough to beat indeed!

The day Muzza beats Fed in a GS....is the day Fed should retire.

Fed better not lose a swearing arrogant counterpuncher.

Federer in 4....lose 1 set because of his tired tough matches unlike the 5 exhibitions Murray played.

Feddy needs a game plan asap on how to beat this pusher or else he is gonna face the same fate as he did in olympics, the courts are looking super slow and fed mainly relies on his serve so..

I honestly have no idea. This is totally up in the air, the one match I can't seem to make up my mind about who the favorite is. I'll go out on a limb and say Federer in 5.

It reminds me of Olympics semifinal. Roger lost to Murray in final after playing three setter that too in grass. It's hard court and after a five setter match with Tsonga, that too a longer match the chances look very bleak for Roger.

Roger Federer in four, win or lose together with Roger

That's a limb indeed. i think that's the least likely of the 6 results in which a matchpoint is won (no retirement/withdrawal). Fed's not got the endurance anymore to beat Murray in 5 I think.

Very true. Gone are the days when Roger beats anyone of the top three in five sets. It's either Roger in three or four. If it goes to fifth set, Roger will mostly lose to Novak, Murray and Rafa. It's tough for Roger to straight set them so if at all Roger wins, it will be in four sets.

I think the key question for this semifinal is whether Murray can step it up a notch. He's had no-one who could remotely push him so far and that doesn't bode well imo. Sure he might be fresh, but he could just as easily be called underbaked too.

We'll see. Like I said, I have no idea. Federer can survive a marathon, though. But if he does get through in 5, he'll just be murdered in the final.

Mind says Andy in 4, but for the sake of it I voted Roger in 3 :)

Don't really mind though who wins this, as long as he wins the final as well.

    Relax folks, ...
Federer is having to muscle the ball too much. Long gone is the languid 'liquid whip' forehand; it's been replaced with one that often displays a small hitch, and is far more measured and manufactured. While Tsonga was finding ways to hit through the court, Roger by comparison was struggling. He always did rely on fluid, harmonious technique in order to generate his wicked pace and spins but with his more abbreviated stroke productions, which have slowly manifested themselves into his game over the last 5 years, he is unable to generate the same sort of consistent force - he cannot 'muscle' a ball in that manner in the same way that Tsonga can or indeed as proved recently, with his very strange and abbreviated swing mechanics indeed, Bernard Tomic.

In short, I don't think he'll find the adequate answers to hit through Murray, and certainly not Nole. He still has a chance though, can't count out silly old Wodgie now, can we.

Voted for Murray in 4. This is the surface where Murray should be able to record his first Slam win over Fed. I hope Fed makes it a battle though.

murray has had a very easy draw so far in the tournament, and the guys that he has played he has not looked that great playing them. roger on the other hand has looked good enough. today in the morning tsonga looked really good with the fh and serve. It took something from roger to win. he could not just go on autopiolet like in the tomic and milos match. If federer plays at the level he has played at in the tsonga match and andy M. plays like he has so far then roger has a chance. even if the surface does favor andy more.

And it wasn't that physical in the sense of a lot of running. He basically has 2 full days to recover. Should be fine for at least 3 sets.

Fed in 4. Murray hasn't been tested and has struggled to a degree in his previous matches against c grade opponents and if Federer can push himself a little more, he definitely has a shot.

Fortunately, the only positive thing after today's win is that he played his worst tennis in the quarter finals.
He is NOT going to play worse than today, it's just impossible.
So maybe he'll improve his serve, or his FH, or even both.
Either way, I voted Fed in 3.
    Cause I like pink.

I think Fed is gassed but Rafa was in white hot form last year at IW until Fed trotted out the gameplan and sent him home. I would like to see Andy actually go through Fed to win a major before I pick against Roger at this juncture.

Winning the USO last year was a nice accomplishment for Murray. In perspective, Rafa was not himself last year but facing down certain demons it seemed. Novak was apparently still recovering to some extant from the previous year. Roger made his best showing in singles at the Olympics and scooped up Wimby which was a surprise. And then there was Andy, who came in for the leftovers as usual when none of the other top four had much of anything left, making his hay at a major when the others were convalescing later in the season more or less. This next match will be his first real test IMO. The Olympics were nice but they don't pay millions of dollars to the winner like a major does--Andy will have to face one of the top dogs in Roger at a time of year when everybody's calendar is just beginning and nobody has yet won enough major prize money to have possibly become satisfied or even complacent.
I really feel like Roger's gonna soldier right on through Andy. When has Andy ever been comfortable striking the ball for five sets like Jo was? It's the guys who bring the consistent power that takes away Roger's time preventing him from being able to dictate that get inside Roger's head. Who knows, I could be completely wrong and Andy might well clean Roger's clock...I've been predicting for over a year now that 2013 would be the year that Andy took over the number 1 ranking, I suppose I am rooting for a Djokovic Federer final.

I'll go with Roger. I think the thing about the O semifinal was not just the length but that Roger was serving behind for that entire last set and that must have taken a lot out of him.

Today Roger was lucky to serve first in the final set. Damn, there were moments when he was almost going to close out 6-2 and those when Jo was a point or so short of 4-5 and then would have served to make it 5-5. I had all kinds of demons going through my head (from the past), wonder how it was with Old Wodgie.
