Well, as evidenced by this match, he's right.

So he's hitting winners, moving fed around, dictating play, serving well, preventing fed from getting too many fh's, low ue, attacking fed's 2nd serve, defending well but he's not playing well?

    yea. ok...
    minus cred points for you

Roger didn't take advantage of that short ball in the first service rally.

If Murray gets through, he has a chance against Novak. I can't quite say the same with Roger, on these courts Fed will find it very difficult to break through Novak.

Look, Wilander will be Wilander, he didn't have 1/10 dedication and passion for the game Fed has.

Sorry, I just don't find getting in first serves and hitting forehands "playing well". It's routine, it's what a person does to win 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

And Federer is NOT playing well. Look at his first service %, unforced errors, winners, etc.

This is looking worse than the Olympic final. at least in that Federer had chances, forced almost as many break points as Murray did - he just didn't take them. Here he can't even get a look in. Can't serve and can't hit a winner, Murray could have won that first set 6-1

i agree, Federer is not playing well, but Murray looks like he could go up a gear or two as well. Murray is playing some good stuff when he has to though.

Agree that Fed is not bad on his groundies. It's the serve that sucks right now.

Murray serves well most of the time, quite consistent. You don't see such wide variations with him the way you see with Fed's serve of late when he can be totally off. Maybe age has something to do with it.

He's still putting up a great show, we'll see other members of the big 4 at his current age.

I'd love to see him win a slam this year.

Start of second set. So far not seeing much of a change from set 1. Fed needs to really elevate his game.

Hardly. Murray is more solid than Novak was the whole toruny. If Murray goes up I'm putting my money on him. If Fed goes up - same, if he beat Murray he sure as hell beat Djokovic. I'm not disrespecting Nole here, but Murray just seems that much better than everyone at the moment. Its tough to find a weak spot there.

Federer can't beat this Murray, even if he begins to serve well. Murray needs to cool off.

Wonder if he is feeling the Tsonga 5 setter in his legs. It wasn't exactly physical though, what was it, 3.5 hours ? But of course, he isn't young any more.

I definitely think Murray can do more. Federer isn't doing ANYTHING of note on the Murray serve.

I dunno; I mean as long as Federer is taking care of his serve, there's always tiebreaks. But I'd prefer breaks.
