Did not see Roger play, but saw Rafa against Monfils today. Rafa looks too good to be beaten. I say 4 set to 1 for Nadal even though I'm a Fed fan. However I think part of the reason Fed will lose is because Nadal is physically stronger to chase down all those balls on this surface. No..it's not a excuse for my prediction of Fed's loss, it's just simply true.

Picky, picky. So, math isn't his friend. :)

I am rooting for Federer, but RAFA will win. RAFA is actually improving. Scary, eh? I'd say he is looking invincible on clay. Will he develop a stronger serve and be able to hit as accurately when he gets to Wimbledon? I don't think so, but we'll see as he is very young.

GOOD GOD OH, if today I already almost died of heart...I imagine tomorrow.
I do not know will manage to watch to the game....Today with Nalby I alredy passed almost the half of the game in bed hiding face under the covers:):, But it is serious had a headache that needed to take medicines.
Well... Tomorrow, I although I would like to have one "crystal ball", but I think if ROGI not tolerate firm and is very well, Nadal will be able to do damage. Unfortunately for us ROGI's Fans, Nadal has very safe state in his game and unfortunately anything seems to shake him. However I believe that ROGI will be able to overcome this Nadal's Safety and ROGI will give us of Mother"s days his present WIN- ROGI. Here in Brazil commemorates tomorrow the MOTHER'S DAY.
Well I will be of crossed fingers, praying too much, my angels are already in Rome a long time ago and am going to transmit him all force and energy of my thought.
Million kisses, much fondness and love for all of you. Beth:D

PS.GO to do positive chain for ROGI:cool:

Beth, what a nice post about mothers. I'm hoping that Rafa gives me a Mother's Day present, as I feel like I'm his mother at times. But in the end, the best player on the day will win. These guys are both true champions in every sense of the word, and it's wonderful to see them generating this excitement about the sport.

    Having said that,

    Vamos, Rafa!!!

You know that someone, in order to become a saint, has to perform a miracle. Federer talked to the Pope this tournament, this could be Bennedict 16's way to the big leagues.

    Fed wins

So am I, and so is Rafa. But I think this is very much in the hands of the two guys on court. I would like to think that, in the end, the result of a tennis match isn't worthy of religious intervention. Many things are indeed worthy of it, but not a tennis match result.

Check out my post above. I was trying to be welcoming to a new member who obviously has a Roger obsession.

Which I can understand, since I've been supporting Nadal for so long.

But take it all in context here, por favor.

It is indeed a tennis match. I think I'm putting it more in perspective than some of you.

I'm sure Roger gives you his, no? If not, he should. ;-)

Fed fans are on edge, and I can understand why. But don't shoot the messenger here. I've been doing Rafa's website for 3 years. I knew 3 years ago he was gonna be good. I didn't know that he would be this good, though.

He may not win tomorrow. But one thing I'm confident of, and that is that Rafa is only going to get better. On all surfaces. Cripe, he's 19. He still learning, and I don't see him getting any worse. Do you?

I didn't say anything about his game. You're being plain creepy. "I feel like I'm his mother at times" WHAT THE ****?

Also, why would I want to do someone's laundry? That's a job for women. (lololollolol just kidding, I'm not a misoginyst)

Federer's getting lots and lots of chances here to finally take the Bull down. Eventually he will be successful. It may be tomorrow. Sit tight folks.

I, for one, think Roger will finally step up and leave the city of Rome with a W. :p

Roger will be lucky to win a set. Rafa is on his favorite surface, healthy, confident, and with a 4-1 record advantage over Fed. I never thought I would say this, but I am kind of beginning to feel sorry for Fed, for he is going to be biting the dirt once again tomorrow. How wicked is this, a tennis genius who singlehandedly ruled the courts finally found his ultimate nemesis. Awesome.

Well, we'll see. It's not like Federer struggled against a nobody, he just beat the #3 player in the world. Nadal played Gael Monfils. He got a pretty easy draw and was lucky that Roddick went out.

I'll say Nadal wins in 4 tough sets.

If for nothing else, I hope Nadal loses just so some of his cocky fans can shut up (excluding Vamos).

Of course, I'm sure some are saying the same thing about Federer losing so cocky Federer fans can shut up.

When is the match anyways? Somewhere I saw it was supposed to be tonight? But somewhere else I saw Sunday night? Huh?

Tennis hardly ever airs in the US -- it really sucks. There's freaking baseball on instead -- what an incredibly boring sport! Even at the Aussie Open, which I tape-recorded, the producers edited out an entire 2 games from one of the sets in Federer vs. Baghdatis.

This is for all you arrogant Fed fans that say that Nadal is just a clay court specialist and he can't beat Fed on anything else. The other Fed fans that are objective (FedUberallez and a couple of others.) this isn't directed to you guys.

The only thing I can think of after watching that clip and from what I've seen of their matches is this: Fed needs to hit DEEP balls that don't allow Nadal to really play the angles and utilize the spin on his shots so much. I think if he can do that he might stand a chance. Otherwise, forget it.

Nadal is just too damn fast. He runs everything down and hits everything in. And he can hit some unbelievable passing shots, and can crank up that forehand when he wants to and hit some great angles.

However, you can see from that clip that Federer doesn't really have a problem with Nadal's spin. Any kinks he might have can be worked out with more experience against that type of game.

BTW, you could probably make an even longer reel of Federer highlights from that match.

You could, but mamasue is a loyal VR member.

Still, when I watch that, and I realize how much Rafa can improve over the next year or so, it makes me very positive about his future.

If he's this good at age 19, you have to think he's going to improve on all surfaces.

BS - you know what happens to all them scramblers who rely on running balls down - their body breaks down faster - not a long term career plan - enjoy the red dirt and young legs while you can - you dont have a career anywhere else.
