Hope Fed tanks this match and save us from BH abuse in the final every single point. Just hand the trophy to Rafa already.

He's playing good. He will put on a show like a gladiator in the coliseum putting the fear of god into Nadal, Paire was disrespectful at the Ozzie open and a maestro never forgets, Benny Paires has no chance.

Amazing how Federer hasn't even won here, yet he still seems to be the people's champion. The biggest global box office draw in tennis? He still is the biggest name in tennis even after so many years at the top.

You shouldnt seem surprised, he has more charisma then Nadal or Djokovic and he can do anything on a tennis court. There will never be another Federer.

Oh the dilemma Fed must be going through right now. To tank or not to tank.

He can't afford to tank at this stage, will be too obvious. Missed the opportunity against Janowicz. Damn Novak for putting Fed in this predicament.

Haha! No kidding. That said though, I've never seen Fed tank in my life, and I hope he doesn't here. I respect that about him, and I hope he beats Paire.

I hate this tank talk. The greatest of all time to tank? Are you kidding me? Actually think Fed is in great form this tournament and could defeat Nadal in the final.

If Fed had managed to avoid a few clay finals with Nadal through strategic tanking, he would be the undisputed GOAT. Also TTW would need only a fraction of the servers it currently needs to handle all the load arising from troll talk on H2H.

That said, I agree with you that he won't tank. Heck he didn't even withdraw from the the IW QF knowing fully well he had zero chances of winning with his back flaring up.

Yeah I wouldn't hope for him to beat Nadal on clay especially at this point. He won't tank even if he does lose. It's not in his DNA. It's the same story as ever. People talk about the great dream form Federer is in, but Nadal on clay is like reality slapping you in the face. If he wins the whole thing I'll be nothing short of shocked.

I hope Fed beats the crap out of Paire, no way would I like to see him tank to avoid Nadal.

Also, to be honest, while all the pigeon, turkey, H2H etc. nonsense is gonna be annoying I'd still prefer Fed losing in late stages to a great player like Nadal than losing to Nishikori all the while looking like someone who belongs on the seniour tour or something.

Only those who really care about H2H would want Fed to tank. Others who love to watch Fed would want him to see him more, even if it is against Rafa.

Fed's only hope of an upset was if the sloppy, tired looking Nadal that played Gulbis and Ferrer showed up today against Berdych. That would mean he was there for the taking. Unfortunately, as Nadal often does, he's cleaned up his game and rounded into form just at the right time, at the buisness end of the tournament. He's focused and firing on all cylinders now.

Federer cannot beat the version of Nadal that played the semi, so he either has to tank his semi to avoid Rafa, or get ready to enjoy life as a turkey.

In some ways I think Bullzy is right about Fed not being very smart(though he says it more to rile up Federer fans). RG 2011 is a case in point. If he REALLY cared about his legacy he would've let Novak a free pass to destroy the spin freak in the final. I don't think Nadal would've ever recovered had that happened knowing he got beat by HIS nemesis on his favourite surface.

Even after suffering so many clay defeats at the hands of Nadal and even after knowing first hand how horribly his game matches up to him, he still entertains the thought of beating Nadal on clay. Puzzling but I guess that's what makes him who he is.
Well, if he does sweep past Paire today, then he'd have to improve upon his BP conversion to have any chance whatsoever of winning the final(oh and have that serve do some serious damage.)

Judging by recent months, almost anyone can take Djokovic out on a given day. Doesn't need to be Fed.

31 y.o Fed has about 0.1% chance of beating a prime Rafa on clay having his best start ever to the year ( 8/8 finals , 5 titles so far). Should he make the finals beating Paire, even that 0.1% chance is effectively nullified since he is playing the late semi and will get much less recovery time for the finals. What time is the final being played tomorrow ?

Of course we want him to win. A final is still better than semi. And Fed has nothing to lose, just to gain.

He is already the undisputed goat. 17 slams plus two 5-slam streaks at USO and Wimbledon. Tell Nadal to match that. All the trolling noises are irrelevant.
