Who will win this ? Roger is still the favorite but Raonic is much improved player, more smarter. doesn't go for the crazy winners, and serve is as good as ever. Roger is older. Raonic in 5 sets ?

You know, this board just needs to be called wishful thinking for Roger to lose.

Yes, he lost to Berdych, but that's #6 in the world. Roger was #1 in the world for a spell last year in his 30s, and he won Wimbledon.

We've been through this with Tomic. Roger Federer is not going to turn around and lose to inferior players. It's not going to happen.

Absolute waste of time to continue wishing it.

Fed in 4. He'll probably drop the 2nd or 3rd set but I don't expect him to lose this.

Raonic isn't un-nerved by Federer records.

traditionally fed has Little Problems with that Kind of Player. he almost never loses against those big serve/FH Players because he can do so many things. he killed roddick 100 times with his slice and can capitalize on their lack of movement.

Raonic is more a potential threat than Tomic. He and Federer have had very tough matches which Raonic had chances to win already, including one on clay. Still I dont see Roger losing this match. His first threat will be the quarterfinal.

Well if it's a night session I'll probably be in work during most of it, and if it's a day session I'll need to be asleep.

Either way, I'll be glad I don't get to watch it. Apart from the tail end of sets I can't think of a less interesting rivalry at the moment.

I think Fed finally drops a set or two here. It will be on one of the showtime stadiums meaning a bit slower terrain so hopefully Fed can defeat the serve God

I could see him dropping a set, but not 2, and I don't see him losing. Personally I think Roger wins in straights, all tight ones mind you.

Pity that won't help him one iota. To beat Federer you need to have a great return game and need to be able to move well. That was also the main reason Tomic lost last night. Return and general movement still not up to it. it will be the same for Raonic.

Laver is a slower court than the one where Raonic beat Kohl. That means doom for Raonic. Fed in 3.

Potentially tricky, but Fed should pull through - he's been shutting down rocket servers for around a decade now.

Actually, Federer struggles with big hitters. Del Potro, Berdych, Raonic, Tsonga, etc. Roddick wasn't much of a big hitter.

    Federer is in the pink.

Hope it doesn't become his lucky colour though.

All looking good, time off, met the good people in S. America, made some money and now a match with no rallies.

Roddick was just a bad matchup - not only could Federer read his serve like no one else, he beat him off the ground when he was Mr. Consistent AND when Roddick was one of the most potent power-baseliners on tour.
