I think it looks great, a bit nostalgic.
It looks vaguely like a Swiss flag to me. The white sections on the throat and sides, surrounded on the corners by red.
...or, Wilson just decided to release a horrible cosmetic because Federer is going to be playtesting new blacked out frames into next season...
Agreed - the PJ is amateur hour
I second that.
I'll hold up on that call until they make frames that light up.
Looks about 10 times better than the new Prestiges
They say those lines are for helping people putting lead tape on? I think it's an over kill. Other than Donnay nobody can come up with a better weight adding system that you can just add and take away weight without having to waste lead tape?
I think this frame could be the ugliest 90 pj fed ever used. The first blx comes to a close second.
Still not sure how they're supposed to help people put lead tape on, the lines aren't even straight!.
And at the same time, if one is methodical enough to put lead tapes on the racquet, Wilson really think said player can't measure for him/herself?
I hope Wilson is running this up a flagpole to get people's reaction. My reaction is that it is a very poor paintjob and it is a negative factor toward buying the racket.
If it's their final decision, it's pretty sad.
Just when I thought the Steam was fugly GOAT!!!
Foiled again! I'll get you next time Gadget! Next Time!
Ummm joe why is that lady tied up on your coach in your avatar. At least thats what it looks like.....
'dead give away...dead give away..that guy has balls cause we sees that dude everyday.....'
Being the proud owner of 2 BLX90, current model, I hope this picture is some kind of joke/hoax from Wilson. The current PJ is miles better than what is shown here, this looks like it belongs in the 70's. If this is real, well I cross my finger that my 2 frames last me another 3-4 years because I ain't buying this.
The lack of Basaltious fibers in this new model worries me.
She was a girl.
I love the cosmetics! gives off that retro-vibe!
Any news on a 98 model? Anyone else think Fed will throw away the 90 for 2014?
Is it true that they let Roger's twins design the paint job?
not fake (see link in this thread)
^^^ Is that 95s 18x16?
I see numbers on the inside of the hoop around the PWS. Anyone know what those mean? If not I'll just assume it's part of the DaVinci code.
My body is ready for this racquet.
The 90 with Roger's signature:
Probably to help out when adding lead tape.........then again it might have something to so with the illuminati!!!!!
Nice! I'm one of those who love the new pj!
Wish we could see the specs of the PS 95.
here are the specs from 95
That seems like the PS 95S, judging by the string pattern.
Do you have the specs for the 95? That is for the 95S. Sorry for the duplication! Not fast enough!
So, only the paint job and the added feature is different from the 2012 version? Can someone explain how does the new feature work?
still ugly pj for 2014.....IMHO.
why are there 2 95 normal ones in the pic. Do they have different specs. I am not referring to the 95s
Sad thing is, is that they are releasing this stick that looks almost identical to the n90 (the peak of fed's dominance) almost like a farewell or going away release.
I think that's kind of sad when your sponsor brand has announced last call for your career.
Come'on fed prove 'em wrong...
I used K90 for years, now I switched to the red and black BLX90 (2010) and it's by far my favourite PJ.
Don't care too much for the current 2012 PJ nor this new 2014 one. It looked like the old N-Code at first when I saw it, but if anything I'll try and find another BLX90 on here or the auction site.
They're taking pre-orders at the country club for non-knewb 4.0+. They won't sell it to falling 3.5s. Far too advanced.
Any ideas when Wilson will release these?
It'll likely get released in January 2014 with the new juices... and whatever else wilson is updating from 2012.
I saw the 6.1 95 and 95S today. Awesome look. The gold at 3 and 9 looks better in person. I was told they would be for sale in January.
This is Wilson marketing just saying "eff it" let's just see how much longer we can get 3.5-4.5 players to limit their potential using these dinosaur specs just because the GOAT, who is light years ahead of them prefers it. So for fun they decided to make it hideous, and still they'll laugh all the way to the bank when it sells out. A few years after Roger is retired, they probably won't even make a new 90 any longer!
I say boycott this ugly piece of sh#t (if it is real that is). Anyone who wants a quality 90 or less head just go the "bay" and you'll find endless good options...Head Graphite Pro's, Wilson PS Originals, Prince Spectrum's, etc. etc.
This is a stick for 4.0 GOATs.
3.5s cannot handle this kind of weaponry.
You can't either.
I have a feeling that they are trying to appeal to a vaguely Oriental aesthetic.
I think you mean "maximize their potential". I've seen so many 3.5-4.5 players switch from their 100s, 98s, and 95s to the Tour 90s and all of a sudden they're crushing the ball with control and kicking butt. And that's the honest truth.
I had the same impression, with all that red and gold, it looks like they are probably targeting the Chinese market.
They could have done a lot better though. I wouldn't mind a black-red racquet with a golden dragon around the frame. In fact, I probably would have bought one myself.
But the one they will release is just horrible, anyway you want to look at it.
On a somewhat related topic, it looks like they're having Fed play doubles with China’s No. 1 player Ze Zhang in Shanghai next month...
As far as I know Federer will keep trying new sticks for the next season, so I doubt he will end up using a PS 90 by next year.
Dali would take you to pound-town broseph.
the 90 at a 4.0 or higher level just wont cut it for serious players. dont get me wrong some guys can use it, but the potential is not there.
Hmmm - not sure about that. I'm a serious player and I can do some serious damage with the 90 (or even the 85 I'm playing with now).
Clark is still waiting for you to man up.
peter fig whats your USTA or NTRP level, im talking your actual level not what you think you are.
guys are blasting the serve with kick power and same on the groundies. a 90 is just not gonna put you in a position to be on offense all the time. better yet to even play any defense.
im not talking about weight of a racquet im talking just head size.
