Federer just beat Haas this year with his 90 only 2 months ago, so if he loses, why would it be the racquet's fault?

He should use whatever racquet will allow him to stop having to chip back almost every BH return of serve.

There's no such racquet because it's not the racquet doing it, it's how he plays the game. Nothing wrong with chipping back returns if you can get it really deep or really short and also follow it up into the net once in a while.

Fed's experiment with the MID-PLUS is over.

Fed has gone back to his PS 90. I saw him last night and at practice today in Cincinnati.

Not over. Federer said after the match, he will resume testing bigger head models from Wilson After the US open is over with. he is hoping he will find one he likes and get used to it by the Aussie open rolls around.

He probably doesn't care if he lost every match in that round robin with the test frame. but I am sure he is hoping he would be playing great with it and win the event. then he will really have something special for the Aussie open.

On Nike's website I want to see his logo as a tab to shop from like Jordan's jumpman logo.

The quote from Federer that "right now I need to simplify everything" and "I have too many things on my plate right now" is very interesting. I interpret this to mean that his back problem or some other injury is his experiencing right now is actually a big problem.

Even though the score of his match against Kohlschreiber suggests that he won fairly comfortably, he did not play well; there was something wrong with his movement. He also looked like he was in pain throughout the match.

I think Federer's move back to the 90 is a result of whatever this injury is more than anything. It would be too much to switch frames if he is struggling just to get through matches as it is.

Not really. Fed said after today's match that he's going back to testing new frames in the weeks after the Open. Also mentioned that the back was enough of an issue in the clay events that he didn't really give it a proper chance.

Perhaps he should break into Dimitrov's locker and grab some of those 93s.

Federer also said in that interview that he's always testing plenty of racquets over the years.

Well, we see that so far, he still hasn't changed from his Tour 90. :)

BTW, he tested Dimitrov's 93 years ago and passed on it. Wilson originally made it for Federer but he didn't like it.

Would have been fun to see how the bigger frame played out on the hard court, and especially on the high backhand vs Rafa. Unfortunately, the way they're playing at the moment, it'll probably just be more relentless backhand peppering and a routine Rafa win.

Spoke to a guy today about Feds black frame. He was saying it was the "original" h22 mold that is also being used by Gulbis currently. Upon inspection, federers and gulbis racket do look identical. Interesting..

YES, he will be testing several new models too, not just that one he's been using. He will likely play with them in coming China tournaments.
Lets all cross our fingers and hope Roger finds that Perfect racket that works for him and comes back and win the Aussie open

You're dead on man! The large spacing outside of the main 8 is the dead giveaway. This is exactly the same stick Fed was messing around with. Even the space right above the handle in the throat is the larger design like the 90's are where you can put your index into and helicopter the thing.

He's still using his old one right? Maybe he'll make the switch in the off season when he's playing all the expos.
