When i saw that federer had won and saw him swinging a forehand i noticed that he was playing with a new racquet. he used to play with a tour 90 and i was about to switch to that racquet, now i might not because wilson might discontinue it. I hear that this new racquent is call the Wilson ProStaff Ncode six-one tour, i was wondering when the release date was.

    This whole discussion is irrelevant.

    1. Federer will used the same racket he used last year (Tour 90) for the rest of his career, regardless of what it is painted to look like in the future.

    2. Relativity and objectivity aside, the Tour 90 is pretty much the best racket on the market for the 4.5+ player, particularily the all courter/sv'er.

    3. The chances of the new ncode playing noticably different to the Tour 90 are minimal at best.

Buy as many Tour 90's as you can afford now.

I'm going to guess....right after he wins the French Open, in order to maximize exposure.

So if Federer doesn't win the French, Wilson won't release the racquet?????? :?

Yeah, I guess the guy who bought the one on **** will have a one of a kind rarity. Perhaps it'll be worth a million dollars someday, like the stamp with the upside down bi-plane.

Actually, in all fairness to PistolePete.....
Wilson did have a bunch of other players, such as the Williamses, play with the racquet at the French, and with Henin-Hardhand out, there's a pretty good shot at a W winning.

When I made the above statement it was partially sarcastic. I would assume that Wilson would release a new racquet after it gets exposure on TV or just in tournaments. Advertisements in tennis magazines look a lot better when some one who just won a big tourny is holding the new racquet.

Am I the first one on these boards to quote myself. I may start talking in the third person. PistolPete out.

Actually, in his post-match interview, they asked him if he was having problems with his racquet, and this is what he said:

I'm sure he was referring to tension, but you never know...

I never liked the WPS 6.0, so take that into consideration as you read this, but I liked the WHPS Tour 90 better than the WPS 6.0 85, and I like the nSix-One Tour (90) even better. I don't want to stop anyone from buying the Tour 90 if that's your thing, but the nSix-One Tour is a heck of a racquet, in my opinion.

    Hey gregraven,

Since you've obviously played with the new nSix-One Tour, could you give us a review of the racquet, and how it compares with the Tour 90 and the PS 6.0 85 (or 95)? How do they compare for groundstrokes, serves, returns, volleys, manueverability, slice, spin, swingweight, stability, feel, shock and vibration, etc.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Wilson claims that the nSix-One Tour will be released in mid June, but I can bet almost anything that it will be at the end of the month when Wimbledon starts. Everyone will see Federer doing good at Wimbledon and they're going to want to go buy the racquet right away.

I think that is an excellent marketing technique, although they may have released it sooner if the Gerry Weber Open was televised.

And, some of you may argue why it wasn't released right after the French Open?? Well, I guess we all know why, Mr. Federer did not do great on that tournament so the racquet did not get a lot of exposure.

I think it is due to be realeased this winter. I think it is supposed to be called Kpax 90 or Kpax93. Federer finally may switched to a slightly bigger frame...

kpax is a 2001 movie starring kevin spacey that i've never heard of. lol but the imdb plot summary seems strangely relevant :
"Prot is a patient at a mental hospital who claims to be from a far away planet. His psychiatrist tries to help him, only to begin to doubt his own explanations."
