    Nice words about Del Potro

    Nice interview :)

It's obvious that Fed likes Delpo better than he like Murray.

It's because respect has to be earned, it's not given (some Muzza hasn't learned).

I have to say that I've never paid attention to the way a player advances in this year-end tournament before today. As Federer says in this interview, the rules are the rules and this tournament's rules are different than is customary.

Without having put a lot of thought into the whole advancing system yet, the only thing I really have a problem with is the fact that the first tie-breaker isn't head-to-head match up at this particular tournament.

It is certainly a unique advancing system.

    It's h2h,but only if there's a 2way tie.
If there's a 3way tie then it's sets and games.

We were lucky RR didn't work out, they were thinking about having it in all the tournies to help the big names but thank god for the Blake scandal and it got abandoned.

The tournament director is an idiot. Or the journalist.

I really don't see the big deal. Delpo deserved to move on, Murray didn't. The rules are the rules. Maybe it should be changed, maybe not; but all players agreed to the rules when they entered it.

It isn't any different than in football, where sometimes a team's destiny is out of their hands. Murray could have avoided that problem by beating Federer. Then it would be Federer who would be out. But such is not the case.

I disagree. H2h reflects history, the past, whereas rules used to determine who goes through the round-robin stage should only be dependent on how they played during the tournament.

If it's a 3way tie like here how should it work?
    Fed def Murray
    Murray def DP
    DP def Fed

    All same no. of sets.

It only works in 2way ties.

It's just proof of the fact that, despite round robin being cool, it can potentially suck big time.

In USTA League tie-breaks, H to H is the last tie-breaker.

Wow! This Darren Wong guy is the GOAT of idiots in tennis writing. I stopped reading when the guy dare to say:

"Those of us in the know already understand that the only reason Federer lost at the US Open was to make the tour seem a little bit more interesting".

Please, do not bring this retarded blogs to TT.

Federer said "I asked juan Martin at that net... did you make it? he said, I don't know", so i guess that confirms any suspicions
