That's a Hyper Pro Staff 6.0 which isn't available anymore. Or is a PS original 85 with a paintjob?

That definitely looks like a real HPS 6.0 Tour 95 and not a PS 6.0 85 paintjob. The head is just too big and round-ish and not small and oval-ish enough to be the PS 6.0 85.

It clearly isn't a Hyper ProStaff, cos of the box frame!

It's most likely a PS 85 or slightly modified one!

hey prostafftour90, it's definitely a hps 6.0 tour 95... my tennis partner has it and its beam is exactly that boxy... and that roundish too!

I concur. The HPS 6.0 95 has a box beam frame. I've played with it. It is essentially a PS 6.0 Original 95 with a HPS 6.1 red, black, and yellow paintjob.

  11. No that is not a 95. The string pattern looks like that on the 85. Also, the PWS buldges are not as sleek and rounded like on the 95. He used a China 85. I, unlike Roger ever did, have a Hyper Pro Staff 6.0 95 L4 if anybody wants it.

I agree its not a HPS 6.0. Fed did play with the PS 85 before and its likely a paintjob. The head looks bigger on the picture because of the camera angle, perhaps.

I have a couple of PS 6.0 85's and many PS 6.0 95's and have played with the HPS 6.0 Tour 95. There is NO WAY that is an 85 sq. in. head in that pic. It looks identical to the HPS 6.0 Tour 95 that I used last year. Perhaps Federer has it weighted a little heavier since the HPS 6.0 Tour 95 was lighter than the Tour 90.

why do pros have paint jobs on their racquets anyway. it sounds really stupid and just another stupid sponsor/advertising ploy.

I think the only reason this thread exists is because the jury is still out on Federer's old racquet. This, however, is NOT the HPS 6.0 Tour 95. I use and have used the red/black/yellow euro racquet for almost a year now. I too thought that they were the same, but they can't be. His racquet must be custom. The patterns are different; the position of the grommet holes are different. Mine has a 16X19 pattern. Both frames have the same general (boxy) shape, but the head on Federer's racquet is not 95 sq. inches - it's smaller. I've seen many many pictures of him using this frame and I would bet money on that fact. Believe me, I wish I could say that I use the frame that Federer used, but I don't think I can. I couldn't handle the Tour 90, so I'll never be able to say this.

to me it sounds like wilson is the only company pushing so much garbage, atleast the most. I hate all the different hammers you can have. I guess triple threat was similar, but still, what is bothering me is that it misrepresents there equipment. Please do tell me Agassi is not using the latest radical, that would really **** me off. Either make so you can tell, or go with the Scud's all black.

here are a couple of "versions" of the infamous HPS 6.0 95 that Federer used. You can see that the first two racquets are different than the second two (the second pair look like Tour 90s)

The second pic from top looks like a 85 sq. in. head.

here's a picture of the HPS 6.0 Tour 95 - I was wrong...it is a 16X18 string pattern. Whether this is what Fed was using...I have no idea...

In that sequence of pics, the first two don't have throat groves, look a lot like the giant HPS 6.0 we have here, and the bottom 2 do have throat grooves like the Tour 90.

  26. Now for the recap:

Federer used the Pro Staff 6.0 85 as made in China. Then, Federer switched (basically) to the Tour 90.

Federer uses the Tour 90, and before that it was the Pro Staff 6.0 85 (China).

Before switching to the current Tour 90, Federer used the Pro Staff 6.0 85 (China).

Because Federer switched to the Tour 90, he stopped using the Pro Staff 6.0 (China) that he was using up till that time.

Since Federer no longer uses the Pro Staff 6.0 85 (China), he uses the Tour 90.

I know this is confusing, so let me explain:

The Pro Staff 6.0 85 has an 85-square-inch head. The Pro Staff 6.0 85 does not have a 90-, or a 95-square-inch head.

The Tour 90 has a 90-square-inch head. The Tour 90 does not have an 85-, or a 95-square-inch head.

This is useful knowledge because before Federer used a 90-square-inch head, he used one with hitting area of 85 square inches.

That's the 85 - the beam looks much more like 17mm for the 85 than the 20mm of the HPS (I have both) and the first cross is much farther down the frame than on the HPS where it's higher up than any other racquet I've ever seen.

its difitenly a paintjob of either PS 85 or 95 cause HPS 95 is more roundish overall, look at the throat of theracquet its so flat unlike the HPS, and I saw him using PS before, and Prostaff tour 90 looks nothing like HPS, so it has to be paintjob of PS 85 or 95

I think you're confusing the HPS 6.0 95 with the HPS 6.1 95. The HPS 6.0 95 has a flat box beam, exactly the same as the PS 6.0 85 and 95. In fact, the HPS 6.0 95 is essentially a PS 6.0 95 with a little HyperCarbon added to the hoop and painted red, yellow, and black, the same paintjob as the HPS 6.1 95. The actual HPS 6.1 95, however, has a rounded beam. Federer NEVER used the HPS 6.1 95 as far as I know.
