the chick magnet is actually a helluva player with a huge forehand and deadly serve. when he's on, he can take down anyone. helluva Davis Cup stalwart. just has trouble keeping his A game on for more than a few matches or sets in a row. If this guy every puts it all together,he can win a slam. Good win for him in S. Africa.

He's pretty cool in this interview.

First saw him in 2003. Have been waiting for a major breakthrough since that time. Never happened. Don't think it will ever happen since he will be 28 in September. A pleasure to watch though (I mean all aspects).

    Talented guy.

    Too humble.

I saw him while training with Nadal several years ago in Montreal and the respect, even subservience, he then showed toward Nadal didn't bode well for his career, not to me, and this has been later on confirmed.

David Ferrer was much more aggressive in his showing vs. Nadal at practice. Could care less whether it was Nadal in front of him; and that's the attitude of a true professional.

I hate the guy lol, thinks he's such a pretty boy lol, or atleast that's the impression i get from his 'one hit wonder' results. I know someone will bash me but i dont care lol.

Also hate him even more now cos the guy he beat in the final was someone i watched play at my local $15k futures tournament last January. It's always fun seeing a guy doing well on the atp tour after you have watched them at such a small futures tournie.

Note: Lukas Lacko also played at my local futures tournament last year and at the time i thought he looked good. Guess what? He's now in the top100 and playing second round of the Aussie taking on rafa! of course he didnt have chance, but again it's exciting to see where these guys can get to as they try and make a breakthrough to the top of the sport

Goodpoint about the subservience to Nadal. He has some serious weapons but you just get the feeling he will never cause that big upset. he will play Federer or Nadal or Roddick tough on the big stage but will seemingly always find a way to lose it. Seems more a lover than a fighter though he can fight at times. I saw him dominate Ljubicic at US Open three years ago 63 63 63 incredible display on Armstrong, but then he loses the next match to a nondescript player.

This guy is an exciting player to watch, he has an unique interesting game but tunnel vision on winning probably lacking.

Is one of my favourite players. I kinda hate is image, because that deflects him from tennis inside the court.
He has the most beautiful game in todays tennis second only to Federer.

I don't think he is scared of Nadal. They've been friends for a number of years. Back in 2002 hitting against 16-year old Rafa Lopes said to Nadal: with such a serve you'll never hit an ace in your whole life, I can return it sitting on my baseline. BTW Lopes is a very good server.
