It made the news. He says it's nothing to worry about, though. What happened is, back in Chile, he was driving his car, when he saw a dog that had been injured by another car. Fernando stopped and picked him up to take him to the vet and the dog bit him on his pinky finger of his racquet holding hand. He took him to the vet anyway, lol... I SERIOUSLY admire this guy for his love of animals. People, I'll let you know something: you can tell how nice (or evil) a person is just by how he/she treats animals. Well, I'm happy both, Fernando and the dog, are fine.

Not if they treat animals better than people and vice versa. I disagree with that logic.

i feel sorry for both of them. last monday night around 9pm,
i accidentally run over a racoon, it ran across in front of my car quickly.
i didn't have time to brake, so i ran over the poor racoon. i heard
the bones crunching, i felt terribly bad. i supposed it died instantly,
i didn't stop for it because i might be the one to get run over on
    the road side.:-(

I hope you never own a dog or have anything to do with dogs because you know nothing about dog behaviour. Any dog who has been hit by a car is terrified and its initial response is to instinctively protect itself and bite the first thing that came near it.

Gonzalez probably talked to it and it calmed down enough to be carried into the car.

Good for Gonzo for having an understanding attitude towards this dog and taking him to the vet.

I hope you traded them in for 2 nice German Shepherds. They're both loyal and protective and will never try to control the remote.

Actually it is very true. You can tell a person's character by how they treat those thay do not NEED to treat well. People, animals, either one. Good for Gonzo.

Animal abuse is one of the biggest preludes to antisocial behavior. I knew a kid who could not refrain from torturing animals or people. He was on the news in connection with a murder 15 years later. Another guy I knew beat two of his dogs so badly they had to be put down. Guess what he beat next, his wife. There is a very strong link.

I don't buy it. I think this is a cover story. The truth is Fernando was bitten in a "rough play" accident, with Fernando's girlfriend (or, if the rumors have any validity, boyfriend) being a little too eager at playing doggie and Fernando a bit overzealous at playing "The Master".

It's a fact. And that boy/man you're talking about likely had a father who beat the dog, beat his mother, and beat him. And the cycle is repeating itself with the boy/man, and so it goes down the generations.

So, I'm evil cause I don't like animals? I don't try to run over dogs, or harass them in any way, yet I prefer not to have a dog around or pet other people's dogs.
    Can't we have a choice?
And I'm pretty sure there are people who are nicer to animals than to other people...but no, we're evil.

I agree with your general feeling about him, but I disagree about the treatment of animals being an accurate barometer of a person being good or evil. There have been plenty of sick or evil people that loved animals yet did horrific things to fellow human beings. Hitler being a prime example.

It was nice Gonzalez helped out the injured dog, but anytime an animal is hurt, wild or domestic, they can be dangerous. Biting is an instinctive response to being injured, to either stop the pain being caused or a means of protection from predators. That is why extreme care should be used when trying to help any injured animals.

I don't like dogs, and I think many of the people who like them have a need for subordinates. I prefer equals, especially those who don't bite while wagging their tails.

Aside from the yapping, barking, defecation, inconvenient bathroom walks, hair, fleas, odor, and biting, the thing I really take issue with is begging. Even trained dogs will stay within the sight of people eating and give them guilt trip looks. Very annoying.
