He played great, his backhand was consistent and forehand set the points up as usual, he served well.

I am sooo proud of my man and am proud to be his biggest fan.

Everyone says that he gives up easily and today he played his heart out.

Just watching him play today made me realise why he is my favourite player and he played so good.

Defending champion is on his way back!!!!!

    Vamos JC!!!!

by the way things are looking, it looks like he can reach the semis and quarters quite easily with Schuettler being out in the first.

thanks a*hole, but the title blew it so it doesn't matter.

WHAT IS F'N HARD TO UNDERSTAND TO NOT PUT THE RESULTS IN THE TITLE!?!!!?!?!?!?

No one cares what you put in the body of the post, but not the title. Nevermind, it's not even worth it. people are idiots. i'm done.

ya' know, it doesn't take a mental heavyweight to just put the damn spoiler tag on the subject line. that is fair warning and you can then talk about anything your heart desires in the actual POST. don't you understand that you ruin a couple hours of possible nail biting action if someone accidentally sees the score. we all know watching a match just isn't the same if you know the outcome. maybe it doesn't matter to all, but it obviously matters to some, so please be considerate, and just put "ferrero spoiler" in the subject line.

He certainly played well.. didn't look like he was in too much pain either.. so hopefully he will progress. I did fear the worse after the first set but he came through nicely!

I predicted that Ferrero would win in either 4 or 5 sets against Haas, and that after the victory the rest of the field would know that the defending champion was in the draw. Well, the other players are on notice now.

On another topic, although I do agree that people should not give away the results in the title, I can't understand why people don't have the willpower to abstain from surfing the web if they plan on viewing the matches later.

It seems pretty simple to me. If you don't want tennis results, don't enter a tennis web site. That way, you won't get upset if someone decides to post something you didn't want to see.

well in an ideal world.. all posters would follow netiquette that states that posts that might give a result away would be tagged with spoiler and the result not included in the header but in the body of the message.. as goes way back on usenet.

however as we've all seen.. some people will not comply.. for a variety of reasons.. n that's just the way people in this world are. I don't see any reason to get upset or try and change those stubborn individuals who will just insist on doing their own thing.. life is too short.

Agree with ballmachine on both points.

Don't blame others posting results, just don't come here if you don't want to know tennis score. Knowing the score doesn't diminish the pleasure watching great tennis to me.

that's a pretty impressive win against haas. He (jcf) will next face frenchmen j. benneteau(these frenchmen seem to be everywhere) He should take him out easy and then have a test aginst either canas or gaudio. I have him meeting safin in the semis of top half of the draw with safin winnig, but what do i know? I also had clement beating roddick in round 3?? I would not be surprised to see Mutis take roddick down tommorow.

I was pulling for JC he really surprised me after so many people said he would lose in straight sets or play 2 sets and retire such as brad gilbert said on ESPN. He didnt look like he was in much pain but i only saw the 1st set so i dont know if he was or not. Good luck JC

Watch out with posting the results---but its not like this will be televised, will it ESPN? No, the WILLIAMS sisters are on today--hooray!
I'll admit---I didn't give Ferrero a chance. He has never showed me any heart till today. I'm enjoying a nice crow sandwich!
