Anyone catch Ferrer calling for a string job during a changeover in the JCF match? He held up a package of Big Banger Original and asked for "22, 21," meaning 22 kgs on the mains and 21 kgs on the crosses. That converts to 48 lbs and 46 lbs. I know Volandri strings even lower than that, but that seems mighty low, no?

he wanted the racquet for that day... a racquet strung at 57/55 would play like 48/46 the next day

nothing loses that much is 24 hours.

Not even if you hit with it for 24 hours straight

I have been surprised that nobody has commented on the "Bag Check" with Jamie Murray. He pulls out his dynamic tension device, explains what it is, checks his DT and gets a reading of (wait for it).... 34 !
I am guessing that racquet was strung @ 46# maybe 48#

There were like 20 threads on stringing low including the science of stringing poly that low.

    Search.

Thanks, as a matter of fact, this thread was revived as the result of a "search". Now, would you like to contribute something constructive?

    Cheers,

I think it also has to do with the conditions they were playing in. And no I do not think it was too low .

I'm stringing at 38-42 these days with poly that is not so strange. I use to be 60+. Not going back.
