So i just completed the first day. Towards the end of the chest and back part i started to give out with the push ups i will have to pace myself next time.

One thing that i am disappointed in though is that i could not keep up with the AB Ripper X. I couldnt find myself to keep in the same position the whole time and i was doing about five maybe even less depending on the position in the time they did 25. Will it get better over the course of the first month where i will beable to hold the position? Or will i have to change the exercises around?

All in all, i am surprised at how hard and how much it worked your body. I felt this worked the same amount if not harder from what i have done with regular weights.

Keep in mind that the exercices are the same during the 90 days, so not being able to do it perfectly the first time is just normal, or you wouldn't have challenge during the 89 others day

Actually the exercises rotate... there are sets of 6 a week and they change for the second 30 days and again on the last 30 days. The Ad-Ripper however will be on the odd days throughout.

If you thought day one was hard... just wait til tomorrow... and Thursday... good luck with the YogaX.... A friend of mine said he will no longer make fun of people that do yoga.

Then the second 30 days start and it doesn't get any easier... but if it makes you feel any better... it doesn't get any harder either.

Yeah but Ab-ripper X will stay the same from day 1 to 90. So it's totally fine not being able to do it on the first time

i personally just started P90x last week, and on my first day i made the(rather stupid) mistake of trying to work out early in the morning on a totally empty stomach

as for the ab ripper x, dont worry about not keeping up, i still cant do it all, the first 3 exercises are the hardest for me

    plyometrics is the **** though

hell of a lot different than the weightlifting i was used to though

I have tried to complete P90x 3 times now... the first I got busy with other sporting activities and quit at about 50 days in... the second time I got a freak injury at about 70 days in... I pulled a back muscle during the Plyo cool down... don't ask I have no idea what happened... I was out of commission for doing anything for about 6 weeks, the first 2 weeks it took me an hour to walk the dog on a short loop... something that normally took 15 minutes. I had to shuffle around like a 90 year-old man.

I am in the process of my third attempt... and yes the Ab RipperX is still one of the things I hate the most.... then YogaX. Everything else I really enjoy... it is the first 2 weeks that seem hard (after the first time I have learned to ease into it)... after that it is just about pushing your body.

The P90x is still my favorite workout routine overall... and I hate working out... but it always seems as soon as I start the warmup I am good to finish.

I play mixed softball (shortstop) and I really notice an improvement in my movement from doing the P90x... I was always quick and mobile... but I made some plays last year... that I would contribute to this workout. On one... all reflex... I moved three steps to my right... backhanded a short one hopper... jumped up pivoted and threw the guy out at first. I would have to give credit to plyo for this... I would probably get to the ball and field it... but I would not be able to make the throw.

Keep it up I would be interested in how you make out after 90 days.

good to see another p90x TW'er.
Just remember to pace yourself, because most of the time they will repeat the circuit again. You'll def see results bro, but remember diet is also important.

Wait till you get to the plyometrics! That workout is beastly, but enjoyable. Happy Training!

Ive failed twice now...I cant do it without bowflex dumbells...I did a few days at my friends house with them, but since they are really expensive, I thought I could use dumbell handles with weight plates, but its too much change and idle time while changing them.

one of my bowflex dumbells actually fell apart somehow(they were bought used from the bay a couple years back) so i've been using old ones that have been lying around, but now i cant go past 30lb, and i have to improvise for any 10lb exercise

I didn't change my diet... but to get the max benefit from the program you should probably follow their guide. I have always been a firm believer that your body will let you know what you need. I only eat when I am hungry not when the dinner bell goes off.

Looking forward to hearing how you do at YogaX.... lol...

So i just finished legs and back and i did the chair thing with the pull ups that they said this time around instead of using bands and boy, could i feel the difference. I will deffinately use the chair from now on instead of the bands.

Also, I was almost able to keep up through the whole thing of Ab Ripper X today. Hopefully by the 3rd week i can. That is my goal, by the 3rd week be able to keep up with Ab Ripper X.

I guess i will use this as my 90 day log if anyone cares? haha I'll get beginning pictures up asap for anyone that cares.

Good Idea! I'd like to see some more success stories. BTW, I'm doing the program again too. I have everything but I cant really follow the nutrition guide too much. It's pretty demanding and controlling. I'm currently at the end of the second week. Third time I have attempted this program hopefully, I can finish it this time...

After two weeks of this I can honestly say the yoga is the hardest part for me, I have little balance and zero flexibility, but I have at least did my best through the entire thing...my only issue is fitting inthe kenpo x workout on Saturdays, haven't done it yet since I officially started the workout due to time issues

although even if I do it, I'll probably do the kenpo + version, the regular Is just boring in comparison

BTW, just wondering what pull up bars everyone is using. I'm using resistance bands for the pull ups but it doesnt really seem to work and they are close to breaking. I'm really looking into some pull up bars that are worth the money and dont destroy the house...

I bought the IRon Gym Pull up bar because that was the cheapest one i could find so lol.

Btw Ripper. I've done the Yoga X in gym class and i can say that is is hard. It burns so bad if you do it correctly, but in class we never actually got through the entire DVD. And yes, Yoga X was one whole Gym units lol.

I was debating getting that but they just released the iron gym xtreme which looks like it has exactly all of the variations of the pullups/chinups in p90x. I'm just not ready to shell out 40 bucks for it though... :(

i've got the extreme one, and i guess its kinda useful since it has the super wide grip which i guess is cool to use...all the other netural grips and stuff you dont really need...but the thing is pretty heavy duty

I made one... I used a few 2x6's and an 1" diameter bar... the inside and middle pieces (the middle piece acts as a spacer) are drilled through to accept the bar... and the ends act like caps. My basement is not finished so I just assembled the whole unit between the joists... mine are are like 16 inches apart. I then invited a friend over who is way heavier than me and asked him to test it... if it will hold him... it will definitely hold me.

It ended up working perfect... and you would think it was part of the house.

KenpoX is the easiest of all the workouts... seems almost a waste of time for me... Always feel I should be doing Plyometrics again instead.

I think kenpo is kinda fun and its the kinda workout that just makes you sweat and burn calories. It's not as intense as some of the other workouts but I think it's very useful in the program.

Agreed, although the kenpo cardio + isn't as much if a waste of time, it's kinda hard to get motivated to do it on a Saturday

Well a friend of mine and myself plan on starting this around the 27th or 28th, when our exams are over. How's everyone feeling about it just now? Have you lost the motivation?

It is like anything in life... motivation can be an issue. You need to convince yourself that it is only an hour out of your day, and you always feel great after you finish. For me I was able to get into the program... I just needed to get myself down to the basement and start the warmup... if I could just get started completing the days workout was easy.

I have attempted it 3 times... the first time... I got caught up with life and got a little past day 60... the second time... I injured myself with one of the workouts... a freak accident, which had me out about 6 weeks. Again I got past day 60 and was in my last tri. This last time... I have just not been able to get myself started... I got to about day 4... then Christmas Parties... etc... kicked in and I have not been back.

However seeing how all of you are starting on it... I may start it again.

But the results were good when I was on it... the cross-training really helped my sports... I move well already, but this just seemed to take it to another level. You also notice you get stronger quickly... probably by the second or third week.

    Let's get some goals going!

Mine is to get past 150 lbs. I weigh about 142-143 and I want to finally pass the 150 border. I'm currently 16 and 5'10 so I hope I can get far. I can't quite follow the nutrition guide to a T but I try to get as much protein in as possible and low fats and carbs. I also gave up pop since I am training... Hoping I can stop getting lured in by it!

You guys are starting to motivate me!!! I have back issues though. I am wondering if my back can handle it! The doctors told me that I should not run/jog because of the impact it has on the lower back. BUt then again they told me that I should not play tennis either.

Ill warn you right now to be very careful if this is the case

i have my own back issues from a really bad deadlift a few months ago, and today i sorta hurt it doing the plyometrics(not landing correctly im guessing)

i've seen my general doctor about my back before and i didnt get any warning about not running or jogging, so be cautious

alternatively, avoid the plyometrics, which would suck cause its probably one of the better workouts

I really can't wait to start the p90x (but I think, realistically It's best for me to wait till after I've finished my exams next week, then had a night or two out to celebrate-so that it's out my system!! :D )
